I've heard good things about Kindred Spirits on the Roof! A few of the people I used to follow on Twitter were extremely into it. I'm not very knowledgeable about dating-sim/romance-oriented visual novels besides that, though, unfortunately.

I try not to visit the visual novel/dating sim tags on steam because for the most part they're full of... uh... stuff I have no interest in wading through, so I'd probably have never found it on my own

anyway, we're packing to move now. my feelings are still mixed but I've reached the resignation stage of it so my anxiety is no longer singing to me so obviously

 

oh I'm still alive I just haven't had much to talk about

we spayed the cats finally and it went well, besides them anesthesia-puking all over the place day 1

but it's okay and they're okay

as word of advice to anyone who has not yet had to personally watch a cat through post-spaying pains, but may have to in the future: yes, it's normal for them to basically look dead and sleep with eyes open for the first few hours, and yes, it's apparently normal for them to literally feel cold to the touch. consider wrapping a hot water bottle in a towel and putting it near your kitty. but don't put your kitty in bed unless it's literally a floor proximity futon or something, they can't walk and won't be able to walk normally, despite trying, for like an entire day

though despite my best attempts I ended up waking up next to CAT when I first slept properly after that so sometimes they have different ideas and a lot of determination.
