Catching all 151, er, 368, er ... a lot: The Pokemon Infodump Party!

Yeah, small bird pokemon are consistently really close, while zubats and ESPECIALLY golbats are really far away. It's been going on since the game came out in my exp, I lost 90% of my pokeballs to pidgeys and spearows when I first started playing. It was a huge pain.

 

I think that there should be a better sense of depth in the pokeball throwing minigame

oh man between that and the lei pokemon sun and moon is shaping up to be one of the silliest generations yet. i love all of these new pokes

 

i found a bunch of new pokemon today! raichu and sandslash and shellder!

because of this comic I think I headcanon Blanche as an ex-Team Rocket member (that grunt definitely looks like a sibling), but I'd also be okay with all three of them being redeemed bad guys, not just Blanche.

Further thoughts on Rocket Go leaders: I was thinking of different rank combinations (were they all at the same level, was someone an admin/on their way to become one, etc), and although I started with 'Spark is the lowest level grunt, who just got started', I like it a lot better if Spark was actually really high up in command, and a lot of his silly goofy behavior as Instinct leader is a purposeful attempt to leave behind how brutal he was in the past

'just got started in Team Rocket as a newbie grunt bc their family member pushed them into it, is already regretting their choice' Blanche, on the other hand...

also, ex-Team Aqua Candela, for such in-depth reasons as 'she'd make a neat pirate, why not'

 

As an alternate for Spark as a member of a team: Team Plasma Spark. A Team Plasma Spark who was a true believer in Pokemon rights and was as blindsighted as anyone over the truth of Plasma's plans and what would have happened if Ghetsis had his way. Who ended up joining up with the first Pokemon Professor who developed a way of catching pokemon that didn't involve harming it when you first start, and now helps trainers give in Pokemon in exchange for candies and tries to stay out of Gym Battles.

Also, loving the idea of former excited pirate turned excited team leader Candela.

Okay but imagine this. Spark and James becoming friends, and spark helps him quit team rocket and live happily with his pokemon.

I've caught a grand total of two since launch. You'd think with all the birds and rats around, we'd have some kitties getting in on the action!

 

RIGHT?

I see them on the radar ...not super frequently but pretty often. I stepped on one in the Target parking lot and the little shit ran away. I caught this one in front of the HEB and did not care who saw me happy dance about it.

 

I caught my very first one on launch night in my bed!

aaaaand then didn't see another, even on the radar, til a week or so ago :P Apparently Meowth spawns are not related to feral cat populations.

 

How are you guys going with your pokedexes? I'm sitting at 80/80 after getting a haul of 4 new pokemon after going for a late night gym hunt. Also I saw a gym with a tauros in it which was... weird....
