until/unless a remake comes out that disproves this i will assume that some variants of the azurill line, especially the johto/hoenn/sinnoh ones, are sequential hermaphrodites

i wonder if nintendo knows that that's something animals can be

 

pidgey and pidgeot enjoying being petted on the neck is accurate to real-life birds

they like having their necks scritched

 

chatot seems to be inaccurate, ruby likes having her beak pet and will sometimes actually grab you (gently) if you try to stop petting her there

ETA: but that might just be a ruby thing, not a parrot thing
