i just thought homestuck/slenderverse fusion. whyyyyyyyyyy i don't need more ideas for things i will never write
the kids have one vlog, the trolls have another, crossovers are bad but keep happening. (the trolls' vlog is the one where EVERYONE DIES)
it's the everyman hybrid type one. Starts out with a big cast, and then drops as people die or get possessed. Except with better gender-equality. MORE DEAD GUYS DAMN IT. This should probably go in the horror thread, huh.

 

i wanted to run a user-run homestuck/slenderman crossover!!! i never actually did it, but i still get thoughts about it sometimes, especially since i started rewatching all the vlogs :"D i had the slendybent url for aaages, might still have it? idk id have to check

the kids' vlog could start off at like John's birthday party, so there's a logical excuse for filming. And then they start messing around with old family stuff and find some Weird Eldtrich Shit.
The trolls' is probably Karkat's Vlog of WHAT THE EVERLIVING FUCK IS UP WITH MY SORRY EXCUSES FOR FRIENDS????
And then people start dying and someone gets possessed and everything is horrible forever.

 

ok but horrorterrors also happen ON TOP OF every other eldritch bullshit thing
feferi and rose having weird blackouts and memory lapses, their friends trying to assist, Someone Will Get Hurt A Lot, the possession spreads from them (idk who else has affiliations with horroterrors besides them? maybe gamzee?) and shit starts going down
maybe the possession spreads by curiosity- the more you learn about it, the more susceptible you are, type thing

Maybe everyone's just passing horrors between them like a horrible grimdark cold, because of family bullshit or bad luck or what have you, and so everyone has like three different monstroties after them at any given time? XD

 

I am pretty sure that whatever malevolent force is going after the kids is going to have one hell of a time, considering half these kids are vicious. Like twelve Evans and that's BEFORE they get possessed.

...Also with the trolls I really like the idea of Aradia being dead and Sollux having a guilt complex because he remembers it as being his fault but then they discover old recordings on some of his old phones and it is decidedly not his fault. Or everyone remembering Aradia being places, but sometimes she's in two places at the same time, and sometimes they can't remember what happened when she's around, and then they find a tape that shows her death that's dated yeaaars ago.

...Sorry I am just. Really enamoured with creepypasta verse aus.

@emythos I think that humanstuck would fit better with the "what the shit is going on" feeling of the original series, since i feel like trolls would be a lot more used to weird bullshit going down. ...And on the other hand, the world being secretly mixed (in the vein of however HIC managed to pass as betty crocker) opens things up to all kinds of shenanigans.

further stuff: dave's used to be really into dead things!! hurrah for animal skulls and preserved things in jars, super neat. but then his friends start getting kinda funny, some of his darkroom photographs are coming out kinda weird, and he's recently started swearing that the dead things switch jars occasionally out of the corner of his eye

 

Later on, he comes home to find his jars smashed. Most of the dead things are strewn about the room, but others are missing.
Meanwhile, John, Rose, and Jade open their front doors to find various dead things in front of them.

 

Yesss. Dave takes some ironic photographs, assumes the weird shit in them are some """hilarious""" pranks until the others confirm they were nowhere near those woods when he took the pics.

I'm also thinking about how there was stuff written on the walls of the kid's bedrooms in canon, bu they didn't notice it. I bet that comes up in this au a lot, and it's only noticed extremely late. Im such a fan of the Operator symbol in marble hornets, but I bet here half of its just horrorterror gibberish and long, spindly tendrils snaking down towards the beds.

@emythos yyyy. Naturally the tendrils look a bit too 3D and the symbols make the walls seem to move inward a-la Dreams in the Witch-house, even though the actual symbols and such are drawn in like, charcoal.

also, now that you say secret videos, who would be the ToTheArk/masky/hoody of the kids/trolls. my thought is that someone from either series is made to interfere with the other one without realizing it

this may be outta left field but. . .meulin. i would find it so interesting if meulin were the secret creepy side videos, who is the cutest sweetest everyone loves her no one suspects her, who's close to the makara family but somehow doesnt glean any suspicion anyways? meulin being found, blinking and innocent and confused, with her hands covered in black paint; meulin waking up for brief spells and trying to find help but falling under the sway of the chucklevoodoos again; odd panicky messages sent at 1 am to karkat or nepeta 'help me help me there are scary sounds i can hear someone trying to break in' so often that it takes them a while to process that she's deaf, how is that happening
