this the season for horror movies. St. Agatha - 1950's convent for unwed mothers, lots of fuckery afoot. Ehh. Decent i guess. 2.5-3/5 for me tho. 1st Summoning: 1/5, boring boring boring. 8l skipped around after over an hour of boredom to see if there was Anything of interest near the end.
Don't Kill It- 2/5 but funny He's Out There - 4/5 Don't Knock Twice - 3/5 As Above, So Below is ALWAYS a classic
Kristy - i'll go ahead and give it a 5/5 because it had me on edge the entire time, had a het couple i was rooting for, and kept the pace up the entire time. Heads up for: flashing lights, off screen animal death.
Deadtectives was trying so hard to be a horror comedy and it wasn’t either. Would not recommend this movie.
The Monster: ehhhh....... 2.5? don't watch it if you've got any issues with alcoholic parents, child abuse, shitty moms, etc. interesting creature feature i guess but it shows a LOT of interaction with the mom and daughter in the past and it gave me the screaming mimis of memories.
What the actual fuck is this, it appeared in my YouTube recs, disappearing as soon as it came. It has no title, making it unsearchable. I hate it and I fear that I have been cursed just for watching it.
It was also put up two weeks ago and only popped up 2 hours ago in several recommends, before that comments were locked as well.
Vague description, because I don't quite know how to words it: Hank Hill appears in Bobby's doorframe, walking over to Bobby while speaking garbled and glitchy gibberish. Bobby replies in different gibberish. Hank takes headphones, an ominous noise plays while a red skull bleeding upwards appears, then a black circle with a black figure crawling out, then back to Hank but him in complete darkness as a glowing pyramid slowly spins. The camera zooms in slowly and the video cuts off. I hate it
Y'know, if I were to describe the overall vibes of the video I'd say it's honestly pretty close to a Salad Fingers kinda feel. Surreal and Unwelcoming sort of thing
Just got back from seeing It: chapter two, and it was ok. Almost every scary part in the movie was a jumpscare, and it got annoying after awhile.
this isnt traditional horror but it fucked me up so everyone needs to be as horrified as i was Spoiler: youtube vid
Does anyone on here actually have a Shudder subscription and how worthwhile is it? I really love Asian and supernatural horror that focuses well on building tension, and I've been tempted by the 7 day trial on amazon, but idk if it would actually be worth me forgetting about it and paying? Also, has anyone watched 1922 on Netflix yet? I kinda like the premise, but the stupid narmy hash recent creators (*cough*IT*cough*Tim Curry was better*cough*) have made of King's work makes me reluctant to try it. I haven't read 'Full Dark No Stars' so I'd be going in blind but still.
I have shudder and the movie selection is ok. The movies they have on their are older or more obscure than i'm used to so I don't watch it as much. I prefer hulu to shudder honestly.
1922 was pretty legit I thought. Unsettling. As for Shudder I've found it worth it, personally. Has some really nice documentaries on it along with older shit. I'd say try out the free trial and at least get through stuff like Horror Noire in terms of the documentaries.
Has anyone watched the new Creepshow on shudder yet? It's so good! Spoiler: spoilers for eps one and two There are two episodes so far, and each episode has two stories. The first episode is the scary episode, and the second one is more action/funny. The story about the little girl and her haunted doll house was the scariest of the four stories. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I was so worried something bad would happen to the little girl. I was so relieved at the end when she got rid of the dollhouse. I think the fourth story is my favorite. It was kind of cute actually. A man finds a finger on the street and takes it home. He accidentally spills beer on it and it grows into something that looks like a tiny pale xenomorph thing and starts murdering people who've upset him.
Just watched in the tall grass, it has many aspects that I really like in a spookie mov but also some less great ones. Spoiler cw for bad pregnancy times, rape threats and canibalism Spoiler all in reference to the one character. The six month pregnant lady is threatened with rape, has her baby premature and is fed it's body while she is really out of it. but also weird eldritch fields of grass are 110% my jam
