@evilas Np! Looks like the Autumn Sale only lasts til the 29th. The Winter Sale next month usually lasts for at least two weeks, though, and the Civ games will likely be discounted at similar prices then.
Let me tell you all a story. Of the Great Great Works Heist. I was playing Civ 6 as Scythia, and I was trying to get a cultural victory. But Japan was beating me massively, because they always rush religion/culture. So I decided to sabotage them and give myself an advantage at the same time! So what I did was this. I sent several spies into every single one of their cities, and drained them of their great works. Many spies were captured trying to take The Dolphin, but eventually, all of Japan's culture was subsumed into mine. Every piece of art, every book and story, that once belonged to them, was taken over the course of about 10 turns. It was glorious and they never figured out where all their art went. And then I pissed off Gandhi and he nuked me so I lost, but that's not a surprise to anyone.
For anyone interested: for the next 2 weeks, Humble Bundle has a Civilization bundle! For $1 or more, you get: -Complete Civ 3 -Complete Civ 4 For (average - currently $6.38) or more, you get the above and also: -Civ 5 + both expansions + DLC pack -coupon for 20% off Civ 6 in the Humble Store For $15 or more, you get the above and also: -Civilization Beyond Earth + expansion + DLC pack
@Technicality I kinda like it myself (the Rising Tide expansion did a LOT to improve its flaws) but it's definitely not everything I hoped for. (I mean hell doesn't Firaxis/Sid Meier have the Alpha Centauri license? They should make an HD/updated remake of that, I would sell my soul for something like that tbh)
I figured this would be a good place to make the offer first! I have I got the bundle for BE and the expansions and now have extra Steam keys for Civ III- V. I'm giving them away, preferably each game to a separate person. If there is anyone who wants just one/all of the of V's addons, I'll give them to that person, and if no one wants them separately, I'll give them to the person who claims the main game. Just post here and @ me!
Humble Bundle's Spring Sale is going on until the 25th, and some Civ games are on sale! Notably: -Civ 6 for ~$40, as opposed to the usual $60 -Civ 5 Complete Edition (includes all expansions and DLC) for $12.50 Also, there have been several Civ 6 patches since it first came out, and I haven't been seeing many glitches recently. I have noticed that once you get to Emperor difficulty, the AI aggression goes way the fuck up. I'm talking like, in my latest King game, the only war I was in occurred in the mid-to-late game (instigated by my neighbor Germany) and in each of the Emperor games I've started, the AI (sometimes immediate neighbors, sometimes not) have randomly declared war on me in like, the Ancient or Classical era. Like, wow. I usually expect that level of aggression from the Alpha Centauri AI, but the recent Civ games' AI aren't usually quite so aggressive. Huh.
Resurrecting this thread for a few announcements: -For the next ~48 hours, Civ 6 is 50% off on Steam (so, $30 instead of $60.) Also, the Steam Winter Sale is coming up in a few weeks, which is usually a good opportunity to buy the earlier Civ games (and hell, Civ 6 might get a good discount too, if it's half off now!) -And, in February the first expansion for Civ 6 will be released! It's called Civilization 6: Rise and Fall, and I'm super stoked for it y'all. The Great Ages system seems especially cool, but the Governors and the upgraded alliance system sound interesting as well!! Also, I'll just put it out there again: if anyone ever wants to do some multiplayer Civ 5 or Civ 6, I'd absolutely be down, whether it be simultaneous multiplayer or a pitboss-type deal.
