"black" flowers do tend to be at least very dark blue or purple, which is definitely closer than Vomit Red.
you're so mad about the kumatos! (that's what I've heard them called?) .. granted, it is an AWFUL color.
... oops i think the color is really cute lmao but then dark reds and dark greens are my aesthetic especially mixed together :P
yeah, i kind of threw that one in because it was such an oddball and i was curious to see what other people would have to say about it. 'christmassy in a nauseous sort of way' isn't the nicest food description, so probably for the best that i'm not responsible for selling them.
ohmygosh now I kinda wanna make a tie-dye thing inspired by that. Cuz like tie-dye dark green/dark red should get pretty close to the tomatoes
If this had been about like, colors of paint, my answers would have been a lot more varied. But wrt food, foods get the fewest words possible for their colors. And then there's also the "it's CALLED a red onion, but you would recognize the color as purple" thing, which for this test I would have answered "purple".
@Avery yup, the idea was how people name colours when it's a food colour, not just a random swatch of colour, if that makes sense. any objection to me quoting your comment about that?
My color names are highly influenced by the Crayola Crayon Big Box circa 1962. (I know the difference between green blue and blue green. So there. :) )
Took it and. Goodness, a lot of these are things I'd eat but some of them are things I'd avoid like the plague. As pretty as kale is, having it shoved in my face constantly since I started hunting for my chronic illness diagnoses and even after getting them has made that join the avoid list. From a point of view of taking the survey though: 10/10, would have happy spasms of color flavor swaps again. :Wicked synaesthesia giggles:
I have no word for that color, only love, as it's also the color of red maples during their main growing season. (red leaves + green chloroplasts = about the same color as those tomatoes, it gives me a huge rush of Home Feeling.) Spoiler
Perhaps its because you guys haven't seen them up close (could not successfully find a photo that really portrayed what I want) or lived with them. Because there are definitely seasons where red maples get that color. (Note that I'm saying "red maples" not as in the species actually called red maples, but the red japanese-style maples.)
Same--mine has a few bright red leaves right now and a bunch that mottled bruise-y color and a handful still dark green. I think seeing it from further off just makes the colors seem to blend better? I dont typically go stand right next to the tree, so.
