I’m not sure exactly what to compare it to but if you’ve always been stupid about musical cartoons and you’re still down with problematic queers you may have a good time, I did!

Small indie stuff is still supreme among the things I enjoy because I love what small budget passion projects with relative artistic freedom end out like!! People making stuff they like whether or not anyone else will.

I love Vaggie, she needs to be appreciated more. Best fighty gf! Also I really want the logo as a pin, and the Key as a necklace.

 

I appreciate Vaggie and I’m also suuuuuper interested to learn how they got together. What is this weirdly positive relationship doing in this setting? Everything they do for each other, how they talk and treat each other, says ‘mutual support.’ How did Charlie, Hell Princess, meet Vaggie, who I read as human or a former-human, theoretically? How did they get together? How did they develop such a positive relationship? My guess is Vaggie actually really helped Charlie find her ‘humanity’ though this is theorizing based off of small clues. This is fucking representation, lesbians supporting each other in a harsh weird world

 

I hadn´t considered that but I very much like! I feel like the positivity helps balance out all the crapsackness thas going on otherwise. Also Niftys everything.

Yeah I find settings where EVERYONE sucks hard to tolerate. And just one nice person in a world of assholes feels weird and too... unrealistic to me, they’re often perpetual victim stories, which I don’t like. Something about two or three people who care against the harsh world really hits the spot.

I also full sincerity love how one of the traits of assholery here is hating the good guys for being gay. Or being reductive to their sexuality and gender expression. Our heroes are queer and the callous asshole of hell are, surprise, surprise, assholes about it. It’s a nice subversion, one that feels honestly very much like life to me.

 

Alistair's my fave because of course he is. I actually greatly appreciate him being very upfront about not believing demons can be redeemed and he's just there to see everything crash and burn. Also, nifty! I love her.

Did anyone else think Sir Pentious and his egg minions could've had a small chance of redemption? I feel like he'd've been a great tennant, he was actually quite receptive in some parts (notice the "harder, daddy" from angel dust being replied with "son?" In an almost loving and hopeful way)

 

If you watch the aftercredits scene he IS still alive so who knows.

 

GOD i loved this so much. angel dust is, to the surprise of absolutely nobody, my favorite. he's just so unapologetically himself which is crude and sexual and I love that for him. I love seeing queer characters being unapologetically problematic

“YOU WANT TO ‘GO,’ MISSY?” Hisses Sir Pentious, making it absolutely clear he’s too old to know if he’s saying that right

 

I LOVE every character's design to bits and I can't wait for more.

(Semi-serious theory I may fic some time, once we see enough episodes to know a bit more about the crew; Pentious did actually have a son, who either double-died or went to Heaven. I know his reaction was supposed to be a joke but it was very, er, shall we say automatic.)

 

That´s something i wonder. There are exterminations but what happens to the folks doublekilled?

 

Im wondering the same tbh. I wonder if only angels weapons can 100% kill someone in hell, and maybe when they're killed by other means it just takes them a while to come back

I think the implication is that they're completely annihilated forever when double-killed, a la in Homestuck (which it's probably referencing).

 

Question, is Charlie's design supposed to be based on an animal, like Angel's a spider? Her nose looks rather animal-like, and if I had to guess I'd say panda.

(Also, I thought Alastor was a fox, but apparently he's a deer.)
