YEP there's me and @Wiwaxia, we're the lampwork squad which is what you really need for beads, honestly, I'm not sure how you'd get Small Holes in fused glass. Probably there's a tutorial somewhere though.

Apparently you can do it with a carbide or diamond drill bit if you go slow, but I definitely don't have one small enough.

If you wanna make fused glass beads, the easiest way is to sandwich some copper wire between two layers of glass so there's a little loop hanging out. Copper can handle the fusing kiln just fine and molten glass attaches to hot metal, so it'll be in there solidly.

I've done similar things, yeah! so @Aviari I could make you cool hanging charms, but not Actual Beads.

Spiffy. @Wiwaxia @Starcrossedsky @bluefox how do y'all feel about working something out with me in the bead/charm construction dept? *waggles eyebrows*

Either I buy from you direct or you get part $$ from the finished piece?

I would potentially be interested, but I have no idea how long it'll be before I can get back to beadworking tools.

I gotta do some experiments with wire loops to see how it works out, but I'll try it out and get back to you! and if you don't like them I'll just make them into.. idk, dangly earrings or something. How big are you looking for?

@bluefox Say 1in square or round for necklace pendants, 1/4-1/2in for charms?

@Aviari very interested, but it would require me to have a kiln first. Sobsob.

Does anybody do origami on here? I've been getting back into it (for the hundredth time) and unloading butterflies and pre-columbian frogs on basically everyone I know.

Oooooo I love the butterflies! Could you post the pattern? I do origami in a sense that I memorized a couple patterns as something to do with the piles of receipts in my purse and then give to cranky kids in waiting rooms/work.

I love the receipt idea. Something about making origami on the fly seems to really delight people. I've been cutting scrap book paper down to size lately, and while it doesn't work super well for more complex ones like parrots or some elephants, all the simpler ones I've been doing have taken to it really well.

For the butterflies, there's two patterns I really like. The smaller butterflies are (there's lots of youtube videos for this one all with different names, but the design is the same.)
The bigger ones are http://www.origami.cz/Pdf/butterfly.pdf (it'll propt you to a pdf download.) Steps 8-10 confused me so much that I had to recruit my brother to help me figure it out, but it's really easy to do once you get it. If anybody has trouble with it like I did I'd be happy to take a couple photos to try and illustrate.

@Aviari what figures do you make? I know there's some patterns that call for rectangles specifically.

I'll tear the bits into squares for cranes or tiny versions of the Samurai helmet for finger hats mostly, or those little dollar-bill hopping frogs.

    !!!! The butterflies are adorable
makes me want to build a butterfly crown for a photoshoot
(what do you mean I have a problem with crowns I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM *hordes materials for like ten thousand different circlets/flowercrowns/tiaras)

with that said I recently bought a bunch of driftwood and just now got back from purchasing a few crystals soooooo
there might be actual stuff made and posted soon.
You know, once I stop just endlessly hoarding pretty things and never doing anything with them.

What do you make out of driftwood and crystals because I am all about both of those.

Making a driftwood crown (it's gonna be mostly a photoshoot piece but god dammit it's gonna be awesome as shit) and the crystals are gonna become wirewrapped pendants!
though now that you mention them this close together I almost forgot I still have a bunch of bright red coral shards which I am now definitly considering should go on the driftwood crown, unless I decide it should stay white, which was the initial plan.
EDIT: and if it stays white I can gut that one clear quartz necklace I have and almost never wear for glitter stuff
    PLANS! THINKY THOUGHTS! CRAFTING!!!

!!! I might actually order one of the hemp ones first instead of commissioning you (I'm a tad tight on money rn because one of my classes was cancelled a few times blegh)
Those are adorable! and the leafy background works really well! (I feel it's v important to point out nice product photos because it's a pet peeve of mine and I am very bad at photographing things so should I ever have an etsy or something I need to look at what I like in product pics)
