my first doll is finally not naked anymore. im gonna make the skirt today. c: and i need to boil wash another two heads and start on some faces.. whoof, nerves.
made the skirt, put it over top of the former piece because it made it puff out more and... its so cute... ;v; so dainty. (sorry or the blurry face, i was at an angle and my hands shook.) Spoiler: large pic
Frogged the knee socks, cos swapping out yarn on the second sock didn't match the colourway of the original yarn close enough, so I ended up with a teeny band of Matching Sock and then the rest was "this is Same Pattern, but from a different pair". Which bugged me enough that I was never gonna be able to wear them outside the house, and having a set of socks that's just Hardly Ever gonna get worn felt like a waste of yarn (especially since the seafoam-green yarn that was one of the base colours was a birthday present from a friend). So instead, I'm making a different pair of socks in a faux-argyle pattern (the Business Casual pattern from Ravelry) and enjoying the heck out of it. Current plan is to make them long enough that they're just under the knee, and switch to double-stranded once I'm around ankle height so that I get the plush and squishy warmth of double-stranded sock feet.
im stressed about wisdom tooth surgery and our gas still being off so i put that stress into making another doll outfit. pale pink with gold deer accents over top of a white top, with two layers of lace trim on top and bottom.
I’m slowly but surely figuring out resin casting. There’s been a little good and a whole lot of failed experiments, but to be fair, I’ve only been doing this for a week. here’s the first set of dice I made that turned out any good. And then we have a little rose that turned out surprisingly well for a first attempt
(squinting at dice font) Did you get those from Wish? I also just got into baby’s first resin casting and I’m waiting for my dice molds to arrive They look really nice though! I like that you did the numbers in gold, it is overall a nice look :)
They’re the same dice that wish sells, but I got these from amazon after the box of wish dice molds I order in May got their delivery date pushed back to late September.
Goblin brain Wants the shiny rockses :) So like, I haven't really owned a doll since I was a kid (partially for stupid gender dysphoria reasons) , but a friend of mine wanted an unwanted BJD to go free to a good home and I thought making some clothes for her (the doll) would be fun. I finally managed to get around to her first layer of clothing last week. Her name is Fawn and she's gonna be a neolithic warrior priestess! The suede-looking stuff is just cotton, but the cord on her throat, waist, and boots is actual bark cord I had left over from a previous project. I need to figure out how to make a model head so I can make a better wig for her, and she still needs a fur vest and accessories, but so far I'm pretty pleased with her.
slapped a cover on my practice book. it was done out of order so it isn't Finished/Nice looking, but yknow what who cares, it was still fun.
