Spoiler: Ep 33 "Today you are the luckiest person in Whitestone. You know why? Because you're at the bottom of my List" I love Percy's one-liners
Spoiler: 25 MAYBE MY FAVORITE SO FAR I love when the dice give us crits appropriate to the narrative I am a Little worried about what's going to happen now, given the Briarwoods don't seem the kind of people to leave tracks, Vox Machina has the goodwill of a handful of nobles but no rank or holdings beyond a small keep and a reputation for unpredictable derring-do, and the next episode title starts with "Consequences" also, was Liam writing that death scene over the entire previous week? I love this weirdo
Spoiler: Ep 33 (live reaction) D8 D8 D8 percy is gonna fucking murder everyone in this castle and then murder their souls
Spoiler: Ep 33 again I just really needed a screenshot of everyone's faces at Vax's confession. There's like 7 potential reaction images in there
Spoiler I have a cap of specifically laura on my tumblr post for this one. I also demanded someone make me a gif of marisha disappearing behind her binder.
Spoiler: Ep 33: look its 2:30 am and iM DYING OVER HERE "I have a sister" "It's good isn't it?" "I hope so" "You have a sister" "Oh god I do" AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Spoiler: 26 As a DM, I'm enjoying Matt-as-Uriel forcibly reminding Vox Machina that NPCs are people and not walking quest-and-item dispensers. "I owe you nothing" indeed. They've been very cavalier about their favored status. Also, I've been spoiled on... elements of Vax's later character development vis-a-vis Spoiler: not sure? becoming a paladin of the Raven Queen and I think I'm seeing the lead-up to that, in his raw, naked honesty and calm resolve post-near-death experience. [/SPOILER
Spoiler: 27 Seeker Assum definitely playing a long game! I like him. Reminds me a bit of JJT's battle-accountant Cavino. Also I'm amazed that when the party is arguing, Scanlan and Grog, of all people, emerge as the voices of unity and reason (Though that might be more Sam and Travis, at this point). I find myself rolling my eyes at Tiberius repeatedly. 28 is Orion's last episode yeah? Even the Twitch chat is pissed at him.
Spoiler: Ep 33 last one and now you see how long these take me Someone needs to do a scientific study on how Taliesen and Wheaton roll their dice. I volunteer, call me guys
When you've caught up, there's a beautiful tumblr called Critrolestats that has tons of statistics and track EVERYTHING. P sure they did that.
Spoiler You know how percy was gonna make a death ray and it failed? Tiberius wanted to do that with mirrors and a sunbeam
I've seen that but I want to study how they actually roll the dice. What are these two people doing differently from everyone else?
"I'm gonna teach Lockheed to be quiet." "A very important thing to teach a creature." I'm pretty sure this is the closest Matt gets to telling Orion to shut his fucking yap on the air. I wonder if Vox Machina is going to remember to pay the staff of Grayskull Keep before haring off this time? Spoiler: 27 continued Jarrett almost got killed for them, after all. EDIT: I guess Scanlan does??? Including remembering the individual salaries? Damn it, fantasy Eminem, stop making me like you. As much as I complain about my groups, they're good at remembering that the NPCs back home keep living when the party's not looking at them :P The more I watch the more I appreciate how much Matt Mercer brings to the table. Most of the group are great roleplayers (being voice actors) and their dynamic is responsible for a lot of the fun, but there's no way we'd all be watching this if not for the staggering amount of work he's sunk into the campaign. How does he have time for his real job???
I have wondered this myself. The maps alone, dear god. I wonder if he was gonna write a novel at some point but it never happened so now we have this
Addendum: K'Varn was kind of generic, but the buildup, the characterization, and the thematics of the Briarwoods make them legitimately impressive as villains go. Certainly stack up well against the better Adventure Paths. (Part of that is tying them into Percy's backstory, so the players already have a stake, which is impossible in published adventures, but still.) Seriously, Green Ronin or Paizo or someone ought to hire this guy. Spoiler: 28 The stone giant fortress, found empty, and then the visual of the undead giants stalking through Whitestone! I'm learning so much about atmosphere from this game. That was such a nice touch. Architecture, guardians, and horrible reminder of the Briarwoods' power. Also: yeah Tiberius is gone now, I think Orion's last episode was definitely 27. Down to six -- it's a pity they don't have Pike, a Sarenrae cleric would be the most useful against vampires. I love Vax wearing Clarota's hat.
TBH I might be a little salty because I ran a "revenge against vampire mages running a city" plot and it was nowhere near this good
