Here is fine IMO, but if you'd rather show me over Skype or PM that's fine too! I just wanna see your ideas. :D
i dont really care, but skype seems conveniant since that means no fiddling with images *if someone else reads this later and goes "i wanna see!", just tell me and i throw them in here too*
Star Wars/Pacific Rim AU, anyone? I rewatched SW:TFA on the plane yesterday and that scene escaping Jakku in the Falcon convinced me that Finn and Rey are drift compatible.
OK, shit, I am actually thinking about this now. The Stormtrooper program is the Empire and then the First Order's attempt to create thousands of perfectly interchangeable soldiers, any of whom can be thrown in a Jaeger with any other. Poe is a support/rescue pilot for the Resistance's Jaeger program. When he is captured by the First Order, the escape scene goes pretty much like it did in the movie except Finn and Poe are stealing one of the First Order's JAEGERS. Poe knows all about what happens to the pilots when a drift fails. Finn doesn't even know if he can drift with someone who isn't a stormtrooper. But Poe looks into the eyes of this terrified kid who's ready to risk melting his brain if Poe is and he thinks, yeah, we'll drift just fine. The Millennium Falcon is actually a great Jaeger name. Kylo Ren is the product of Supreme Leader Snoke's attempts to create a perfect solo pilot. The copilot requirement is a weakness and leaves an unacceptable space for bonds and care and love to remain in even the most hardened pilot. And he can pilot a Jaeger solo, but the neural damage it causes is rendering him increasingly unstable. Really I just want to see the final fight scene between Kylo Ren in his Jaeger (Stygian Knight) versus Rey and Finn in the Falcon.
Or maybe Lightsaber is Luke's Jaeger? Which was built to be piloted alone, but Rey the mechanic kludges in a second rig for Finn. Chewie trying to bring the Falcon home without his copilot Han takes on a whole new meaning in the PR AU. ;_;
I can't stop. Spoiler: help Having had a few hours to think about it, here's what I've got for the interaction between the drift and the Force. Anyone who wants to chime in, please do! The Force acts as an amplifier for the drift. Unfortunately, it also amplifies the negative effects: chasing the rabbit and emotional feedback loops. The old Jedi ideal was something like what Stacker Pentecost described in PR - bringing nothing to the drift. The drifting pair merges perceptions and reactions, but holds their experiences and emotions separate from the drift. They never bond completely. That limits the strength of the drift, but keeps a lid on the bad side effects. The Dark Side philosophy is to embrace and use the emotional positive feedback loops as a source of power. A pilot pair who are strong in the Dark Side will have crazy bursts of strength as they feed off their anger or hate or fear, but they can't sustain it for very long. Supreme Leader Snoke wants to create a perfect solo pilot because no matter how well you indoctrinate them, a pilot pair's first loyalty is always going to be not to the First Order or to the Supreme Leader, but to each other. This is less of an issue with the stormtroopers, who are replaceable, but with Force-sensitive pilots, every time you initiate a drift, you're potentially creating a rebel cell of two. Also, I don't know what I was thinking. Lightsaber was clearly Luke and Leia's Jaeger.
I've never watched anything transformers related in my life (not even the movies!) nor have I read the comics and stuff. With that disclaimer out of the way, watching people nerd out about transformers in CDCF makes me want a transformers/SU crossover. Specifically, I wanna know who would win a fight between gay magical alien rocks and gay magical alien robots.
Utena / Pokemon, for the simple reason that Darkrai looks like it's wearing th Ohtori girl uniform just dyed black. Spoiler: and the following setup that happened between @IvyLB and me Mew as Utena Mewtwo as Anthy Giovanni as Akio Ash as Dios
You probably thought you'd seen the last of the OFF and Undertale stuff out there. Spoiler BUT YOU WERE SO WRONG!!! NYEH HEH HEH!!!
So I've been... considering a really weird crossover between Princess Tutu and Miraculous Ladybug. Mostly I want the akuma stuff to run headlong into Rue. My thought so far is this: Rue, Mytho, Fakir, and still-a-duck Ahiru catch wind that the original spirit Princess Tutu is being reborn, or returning from the cosmos, or whatever. They hope very much that they can find her and see if she can make Ahiru turn back into a girl. And so, they set off! Unfortunately they have a few different leads on WHERE in the outside world she might show up - cultural dance centers, and hotspots of magical power, but other than that they're lost. So they split up! Mytho might go to check out Germany-ish, Fakir heads to Italy or something, and Rue heads to Paris. Meanwhile! Off in Paris, there is a Weird Thing happening. Oddly, it looks as though another kwami is showing up out of freaking nowhere and being super unsubtle about it. Obviously Ladybug and Chat Noir would like to prevent it from falling into the hands of Papillon, so they're trying to track down where exactly the spirit is going to appear. Eventually it turns into a sort of race between Rue, those two, and Papillon's latest monster-of-the-week to find the Princess Tutu spirit, and said spirit ends up becoming sort-of-a-kwami bonded to Rue. Honestly this is mostly inspired by this piece of art. At some point before Tutu appears Papillon should try and akumatize Rue only for her to turn out to basically be immune to that by virtue of ravensblood.
Consider: transformers/undertale; mnemosurgeon WD Gaster who only uses chirolinguistics to communicate beware the man who speaks in hands this crack crossover brought to you by sleep deprivation and Skype nonsense
