Nice It's good! the beginning's kind of a slog, because it's just "this kid's life gets constantly wrecked" but then it gets better
I don't know if there's anyone else here who's into both of these, but: Atop the Fourth Wall/Fallen London. It first crossed my mind when Linkara had his little costume update but it makes so weirdly much sense. At least to me it does. Nineties Kid as a longshanks! Recovering honey-sipper Harvey at Mahogany Hall! The evils of Ancient Egypt! ...when I floated the idea on tumblr, someone suggested Vyce as the Vake. Spoiler Which I guess would make the Entity Mr Eaten... not unfitting, if you don't mind stirring up cause and effect a bit. King of Worms was definitely a Fingerking, though.
Somehow I was considering Transformers MTMTE / Warhammer 40K crossovers the other day. And how horrific the Transformers would find the shackled, enslaved AIs of the Imperium, made to require humans wired into the circuitry to be fully intelligent, and what horrifyingly warped personalities they have.
Consider: Road to El Dorado x IDW Transformers, with Ratchet as Tulio and Drift as Miguel. I don't know who Chelle is but I need old married couple bitching at each other on this stupid ridiculous adventure.
okay, so like, the whole tribetwelve/everyman hybrid mess of a verse except in the new world of darkness setting featuring the collective as the most asshole changelings in existence, scary fae slenderman, habit/evan as a geist/sin eater set (who have hit rock bottom on synergy), and much more! why do I do this to myself.
Tumblr user azenzeph had a great idea regarding Undertale. Spoiler: 4 images Undertale and Pokemon Go.
i have an unfortunate tendency to turn any character who vaguely reminds me of an ampora into one. not shown: the furry eridan clone i had my first crush on
Spoiler: utena spoilers akio from utena as a true fae that's all for now but i will figure out the rest later
IDW Transformers and Welcome To Nightvale aka "That One Town In The US That Was Just Too Fucking Weird To Take Over" (Also as much as I joked about Megatron/Cecil lbr here, considering his SCIENCE!-kink he'd try to kiss Shockwave's-lack-of-face. And Carlos would too. THREESOME)
Giant robots from the sky? That wasn't on the community calendar. They must have been scheduled for that Tuesday that was cancelled due to interspatial quakes.
So I am back from a bike ride and want to ramble and not actually write because I did that earlier. Anyway, so I've been working on a Persona/Kencyrath crossover for a while. I've only written the first bit of it, but whatever. WHATEVER. Our party is really only a duo, namely the twins. Kindrie is their operator. He communicates with them via a laptop while they're out exploring the Theatre of Judgement. He is also the main source of their various healing supplies. Jame has the Death arcana and her persona is Hel. I haven't thought of what her super fancy endgame persona is yet, sadly. Tori has the Hanged Man arcana and his persona is Yatsufusa. Hel being obviously the Hel who presides over Hel from Norse mythology. Yatsufusa meanwhile is a wolf who defeated a bandit king when the Emperor of Japan offered his daughter's hand in marriage in exchange for the bandit's head. The princess went off with the wolf despite her father's issues with this and they had many children. The twins have very static personas. They don't have the power that most of the protagonists of the games have. Instead their special power is the ability to temporarily fuse their personas to great effect. A fact which Igor's assistant Ashe finds very, very intriguing. She gives them bad advice in attempts to further her research on this weird quirk of their souls. Which is to say that Ashe has nearly led to their deaths on multiple occasions in the name of SCIENCE. And on the subject of the Velvet Room the two signed their contracts just to spite the other. Jame wasn't going to sign the thing because this seemed too stupid even for her until Tori went "But we haven't even told our parents!" Tori only signed his to piss her off. Igor was somewhat boggled by the fact that these two seemed far more interested in arguing with each other than they were with him and his magical room. Because the twins don't have a functional relationship really. Not anymore than they do in the books. When they were about eight their parents decided to get a divorce. Because as sexy and lovely as Jamethiel is it just doesn't do to be married to a stripper for Ganth. Among other things. Tori sided with their father and Jame with their mother. Ganth won the custody dispute either way and for a few years Jame lived with her brother and father. Until she got expelled from a middle school after multiple suspensions. A fact which angered her father. She was told to go live with her mother if she was going to be such a delinquent. Instead of "getting her shit together" Jame went to go live with her mom because fuck this shit. The one worthwhile thing of living with their dad so far as she was concerned was when he had the twins enrolled in martial arts classes with a teacher. Said teacher very obviously being Tirandys. Whereas Tori would continue taking classes just because his father told him to and expected him to bring home trophies or fucking else Jame found her passion in beating the fuck out of people. She is something of a martial art nut as a result and has been learning several different sorts since. Tori sticks with just the one because, again, he is only doing it because Daddy told him to. Besides martial arts Tori also plays violin, takes a number of AP and honors classes, has been involved with after school programs, and knows how to ride horses. Because Ganth expects things of him. BIG things. Tori as a result has an over-inflated sense of his ability and importance but also has an incredibly fragile ego. He is also a perfectionist and regularly breaks down during exams because heaven help him if he brings home a B. Jame meanwhile is incredibly shit student. She passes and that is about it. While she's brilliant she has very little interest in her classes. She does study a lot, but they are things of her own personal interest. This fact annoys some of her teachers. Her mother doesn't really mind. Or if she does Jame is never really told as much as she is often either working or just otherwise not home. The one family member of hers who gives a damn about her academic progress is her uncle Gresshan. Who she is somewhat fond of though she finds him a bit odd. Tori absolutely cannot stand their uncle for reasons he won't share (they involve sexual abuse because this is their uncle so what else could it be). Jame likes to joke that it's because he can't stand their aunt Rawneth's cooking. Though honestly he can't. He dislikes eating in general. Visits to their uncle's are among the few times the twins meet each other outside of school. And now for their ever so important friend groups because god dammit this is motherfucking Persona. It isn't Persona if you aren't putting off the apocalypse to go shopping with your friends. Jame's main friend group is her Ten from the books. Rue and Brier have made themselves the official mom friends of Jame because otherwise Jame is just kind of a wreck of a person. Doing things like forgetting to eat or sleep. Or falling off the second floor of the school. Silly Jame. Always falling. She is also very fond of the aging gym teacher Marc. Tori mostly spends time with his best friend Grimly. Who is actually not at all named Grimly because no one names their child that. Grimly is just the name of his fursona/rp character. Because, you see, Tori roleplays. A fact that his sister does not let him live down and she regularly makes fun of the fact that he LARPs. Grimly is obviously a huge fucking furry. Tori is too though not to the extent that Grimly is. They used to have Caldane as part of their group but Caldane was a huge fucking cockmunch so they kicked him out. He has held a massive grudge against Tori since. There are basically two warring groups of LARPers because Tori has the most pathetic battles ever. Anyway way, way back up there I mentioned a Theatre of Judgement. Which is a thing based on a dream of mine which I have been wanting to use in fucking something for ages now so why not this? It wouldn't be the first time I used it and never finished a thing. Anyway the Theatre is where the dead are sent to be judged. You are brought there and are sent out to perform in front of an audience. Should you amuse the house with your act you get to go to Heaven. Fail to do so and you are sent to Hell. While those who did shittier things in life have the odds stacked against them with things like stagehands or partners who are out to sabotage them it is entirely possible for them to make it into Heaven. Just as it is possible for the best people to be sent to Hell. The Theatre has a non-euclidean geometry to it and the various elevators are the most important methods of getting around the place. Another key method of travel through the Theatre are the Green Halls, which are a long stretch of hotel hallways. There is also a city "outside" of the Theatre. I say that with scare quotes because the city is actually IN the Theatre physically. Someone is fucking with the Theatre and more people are dying than normal. This must be solved. Rue is our source of rumors and urban legends. Through Rue Jame learns that the two key urban legends of the plot. The first is that there is a movie theatre that is abandoned where snuff films are shot. This is entirely a lie. However the cinema is a gateway into the Theatre from the waking world. The second is that people have been having dreams of how they are going to die no really it's true. This is entirely true. Jame of course investigates the cinema all by herself because she is Jame. Tori meanwhile dreams his way into the Theatre the first time. Which leads to Shadows because you bet your sweet ass I am using that. I do not care if Shadow selves were only in two of the games prominently it is the coolest concept shut up. Jame's Shadow is amazingly volatile. She's violent, brash, and entirely convinced she's a monster so what is the point of pretending any different? She's also incredibly lonely. A fact which she uses to insult real Jame, along with the whole actually a monster deal. After all she takes so much pride in not being a liar and look what she is doing? Lying! Wow. Tori's Shadow meanwhile is a housewife. He has gone to the Theatre to have a nice day out before he goes back home to clean and work on things yes, yes there is just so much to do. Always have to be working! We're just so dutiful! His Shadow is also incredibly violent though and cruel too. Whereas Jame's is mean just because sadism, his is cruel out of a want to be the bully for once. The person in charge. Tori's Shadow is also able to ignore its need to kill him. It's far, far, FAR more interested in killing Jame because Tori needs to come to terms with the fact that he blames her for everything and that sometimes he wants her gone. Needs her gone. And the only way to do that might be to kill her. Then she'd stop ruining everything and stop plotting against him. The twins run into their Shadows together and do incredibly piss poorly against them until it's almost too late for them. Jame is the one who realizes and accepts it first. She isn't able to pummel Tori's into submission though. It takes Tori balling up and actually in between his Shadow and her to deal with the thing. And now some little dumb facts of the crossover to close things out. Tori has GIGANTIC Irish wolfhound. Jame has Jorin of course. He is a gigantic Maine Coon who is blind. Tori rides a bike. Jame is working on getting her motorcycle license. Everyone lives in So Cal. Because I live in So Cal. FIGHT ME.
Oh no, I'm back with more Girl Genius/Transformers AU (...does "character transplant" count as "AU") Jäger Whirl who lost his hands and took the Brau-- and got claws instead of regrowing normal hands. Jäger Whirl who decides he likes being a monster, and if that's what people want to see they may as well be right. Jäger Whirl who goes half-feral with his pack, who can't quite believe there's a new Heterodyne because really? Really? Another one, heading off to get squashed by the Castle? Not worth getting his hopes up, not when he can stay out here and destroy himself everything that looks at him funny.
! i didn't know this was a thread, yell heah >:D SO: homestuck.....but star trek a lot of this is jade/dave/karkat-centric because i'm shipper trash and shove the ot3 anywhere i can, but basically this is a fic idea/possibly an rp concept if someone wants to that i've been picking at for a couple months the alternians are in a conflict with the federation, a la klingons kind of. the alternian empire is hell bent on expansion, and is leaking into the parts of the alpha quadrant where the federation is dense. obviously, the federation wasn't okay with their allies getting colonized, and is currently phasing out of the diplomacy phase and into the "we are at war with alternians" phase. (i kind of imagine trek alternians/trolls to be more insectoid then i generally headcanon homestuck trolls to be, because xeno is fun) karkat (and probably most of the main 12?) is a refugee from the alternian empire, because mutant and all that, and has through [handwaves here] some reason become a starfleet officer. prrrrrrrobably is stuck at crewman or ensign despite any competence he may or may not have, because as much as starfleet talks about how advanced they are, few people are ready or willing to accept a filthy alternian as a command officer. he totally has fantasies along the line of "first officer vantas, you have the bridge" though :p even when he's stuck cleaning the plasma manifolds (for real, though, i think he's probably a medical officer, despite super wanting to be A Guy With A Gun. starfleet command probably didn't want a scary alternian anywhere he might feel like putting those teeth and claws to a better use. some of the people he treats, though, are completely convinced he's trying to poison them with that hypospray). he looks even grumpier than usual because USS i haven't thought of a name operates at a light level that is tolerable to him, but still annoying as fuck, fucking diurnal humanoids, god. wears the thickest shirt he can get away with under the uniform, because alternia is hot and humid and federation vessels run at a median that is perfect for no one species, but tolerable for them all. i think jade is probably senior science officer, if that's a thing? not like, medical officer, but i imagine she heads a lot of the scientific research and specializes in botany, xenobiology, and of course physics. maybe she runs the astrometrics lab? hmmm. anyway! i think she's a blue shirt at about a lieutenant/lieutenant commander ranking, in good standing with the scientific community, and she probably had a big hand in actually getting karkat into starfleet, once she heard an alternian was applying. (this is not something karkat appreciates; it means he didn't get in entirely on his own merit, and even if people's prejudice was against him, he wanted to be so good they couldn't say no). she might also be klingon/half-klingon. i'm not sure yet. all this does probably mean that the vessel they're all on is probably a fancy pants research-oriented (possibly deep space) exploration vessel, so that's fun! dave probably works in the linguistics department, so he's on the bridge because of that and because i want him to be. :p i imagine he gives his fellow ensigns hell whenever one of them has to take the helm. "yes, sir, the romulan did indeed offer us a fine meal of his asshole. or, you know, that's what he meant. keeping the nuance from language to language is so hard." (this is why he is still an ensign) but in all actuality he's an invaluable member of the team when the universal translators fritz or there's a message to decrypt. he is also well-known for some rather, uh, unique holodeck programs. strider-one-alpha consists of what appears to be an alien planet made entirely of nanchos. i like the idea of dave being half-vulcan, half-human, and struggling a lot with whether he should purge his emotions and be a good little vulcan. this results in a lot of bottling-it-up that's very much like vanilla homestuck jade and dave probably go on a lot of the away missions, along with some token sacrificial redshirts for when things go south. karkat is seven different flavors of jealous.
Mine had a Kirk worshiping Aranea as captain of a ship called the USS Hachimaru (Eight-Ball). There were such wonders as Nurse Dave, teleporter room Jade, and Rose the ship psychologist that hatefucked the captain. I also spent an inordinate amount of time coming up with history and what not for the trolls in the Star Trek universe. Sadly I don't recall much of it save that Alternia joined the Federation for...some...reason. And Beforus sat off in a corner as an isolationist hell planet for a good long while. The Hachimaru was also the first attempt at blending a troll crew with other species and making use of combined cultural tech. Rose was a pioneer in troll psychology and was there to help with the intercultural relations. Dave hated EVERYTHING.
Wolf 359 cast as Changeling: the Lost characters! IMAGINE FAE CUTTER. WEEP WITH TERROR. Spoiler: W359 spoilers up to Pagliacci, or arguably Happy Endings? Eiffel: Winter Court ("oh, I'm a man of many fears"), but no canon kith really worked for him that I can see so I grabbed Wizened Jester off of this list of homebrews. Once did something unbelievably stupid in an attempt to reunite with his pre-abduction offspring. It went... badly. Minkowski: Wizened Soldier but I haven't quite pegged much else about her yet. Has All of the Drive dots, though. Lovelace: another Soldier, and Summer as Summer can be. I like to imagine her Mantle glowing white-hot when she gets really pissed (so, most of the time). Hilbert: Chirurgeon, what else? He's not from the Western European-derived culture from which the seasonal courts developed, so I looked at the alternate schema- I considered the Dawn Court (Hope), actually! He certainly clings to the hope that his work will do some good in the world. But he certainly doesn't generate much hope in others, so Dusk (Futility) it is for his fatalistic ass. Of course, that's only after his time as a Loyalist ended by Failing Them For The Last Time. He gets hilariously pissy when nobody's over that yet. IT'S NOT LIKE HE CAN GO BACK, OKAY? I haven't figured out how to make Hera a part of this, since so many important parts of her character require that she was never human. :/ And that also makes it hard to figure out Maxwell, since her defining ability is that of altering Hera. The other two nu!Crew are probably Ogres of some kind, idek, I'm not as interested as in these guys.
