I once pondered a fic wherein the soma cast fills in at Ahnenerbe, which is advertised as 'stump the student chefs' for some reason. Saber, because she's honorable, orders off the regular menu. Because she's Saber, she orders the entire menu. Lancer orders a boar. Gilgamesh refuses to take more than one bite of almost every dish. He's even worse than Erina. Somehow the only one that he considers barely passable is Megumi's. At one point someone makes Hayama and Archer stand next to each other. Neither understands why the others are giving them weird looks, or why the looks get even more intense when they talk. Somehow Soma's dad ends up on speakerphone and half the people in the cafe freeze up for a minute. In an effort to one up someone, Illya orders a 3-tier cake and a complete spit-roasted cow.
actually, hmm, having frisk just sorta hang around a lot doesn't really make sense they probably end up Famous and so a Lot of people around there start wanting to join the Sharing because of them...they take the opportunity and run with it. this is the same frisk that basically goes through the underground convincing everyone they meet to commit treason against asgore. also, they have SAVE. they can just. try a thing out, didn't work? load, try a different thing! venbop keeps getting promoted because hey, they're bringing in a lot of voluntary hosts...nobody important suspects they're a revolutionary and recruiting for their revolutionary group and not for the empire itself they probably are a sub-visser by a year or two in frisk is like...torn between 'hell yeah, think of all the things we can do, they don't suspect us at all do they?' and intense discomfort at the fact that they have to help the empire do their conquesty thing to avoid suspicion there is absolutely a 'peace movement' chatroom like in daemorphing, venbop absolutely goes by the username Cor Caroli (it's an astronomy joke) it is probably not called the peace movement. chara would absolutely submit renaming suggestions if it were called that, assuming that in this au venbop didn't start it (aftran is implied to have started the peace movement in canon, so in this au, it starts a lot earlier-book 5 instead of like, book 19) so far all i have for name ideas is the Symbiont Movement also in this au aftran totally ends up bodysharing with cassie after the lost in the woods thing and when they get the morphing cube becomes an animorph herself i suppose in this au the war ends earlier, on account of the yeerk rebellion starting earlier and aggressively recruiting, the greater number of allies, the rogue pool, maybe garfilian and mertil meet with the animorphs a lot earlier and join in the fight, oh hey can you imagine Undyne trying to teach Mertil how to fight without a tailblade?? and then ax and garfilian want in on those lessons too because visser three knows from alloran how to fight andalites using their tail blade but not how to fight andalites that also use their arms and legs to hit because andalites basically exclusively use their tail blade you know that post about ax terrifying and confusing the homeworld andalites by doing things like just flat out punching them in sparring matches? that probably a lot of the undertale main cast would get involved in the whole secret war thing hah, i just imagined assistant pool tech undyne, getting into a very loud (much yelling) sparring match with an ex-blue-band free hork-bajir (the really big ones get assigned as guards to vissers) papyrus, undyne, and a bunch of ex-hosts and bodysharing voluntaries all getting together to discuss martial arts training toriel and some monster doctors and maybe also papyrus trying to work out what is even up with taxxons anyway, it's like rabbit starvation except they don't die??? garfilian having that same group of mages check him over and try to figure out how to treat his disease/at least manage the symptoms that aren't dealt with by alien weed or whatever that plant is supposed to be honestly i have no idea what asgore would do help supply them with resources i suppose? and magic tutoring, and being a guy they can talk to
(in case you are wondering about the astronomy joke: Cor Caroli is the brighter of a binary star pair, and the brightest star in its constellation of Canes Venatici. it is also known as Alpha Canum Venaticorum, and its dimmer partner, the second-brightest star in the constellation, is Beta Canum Venaticorum...also known as Chara.) (Frisk cannot decide between "Polaris" and...whatever the Yeerk name for Cor Caroli is.) ETA: i just could not resist the joke also-Polaris because both Venbop and Chara follow Frisk's lead ("you're my north star"), and the yeerkish name for Cor Caroli so that they all match
Prospective fic summary: In which I integrate DC characters into a non-SGRUB AU and proceed to take over the Alternian Empire. Notes: Tim (Timthy) and Sollux meet very young and rather rub off on each other. Barbara (Barbra) probably mentors them both. (By "dc" I mostly mean "bat", just to be honest.) Go-to hardware people: Equius, Rhoyye Harper, Harper Rhowwe. Can you tell I'm reaching for these names a little bit. So much more but I'm too hungry to type them.
This is more of an AU than a crossover but I can't find the AU thread so it goes here: has anyone written the fic yet where Jeeves is a fairy who has sworn lifelong service to Bertie Wooster for something Bertie did when he was like 5 and has totally forgotten? 'cause that's what I find myself thinking of every time I read P.G. Wodehouse. :::PPP
Evidence: Supernatural movement abilities Supernatural knowledge Master of passive-aggression Bertie repeatedly expresses confusion and amazement that Jeeves stays with him, when he knows people have tried to poach him with offers like double the salary Bertie is giving him His suggestions typically achieve precisely and literally the result requested, but not necessarily the one desired Most often, his first few suggestions regarding a situation will actually make the real problem worse, often in ways he clearly predicted and might even have been banking on Both of them know that the proper way for Bertie to reward Jeeves for his service is not by monetary or physical compensation, but by Bertie backing down on a fashion decision Jeeves disapproves of I'm just sayin', it totally works.
more on that crossover: frisk is not the 8th fallen human, but the 7th. the first fallen in this case is one of the six souls. they were taken in by the dreemurr like canon chara, but died-unlike canon chara this is an accident or something asriel takes their soul, goes outside, maybe Breaks A Thing, horror! is shot, goes back inside, and dies unlike in canon, at this point, there are soul jars at this point and so first fallen's soul is preserved frisk is basically just trying to go Outside asap so they can get chara to a yeerk pool. their first run is a neutral. they face flowey and get out but do not make it to the yeerk pool in time. they reset a few times and find they just can't get out fast enough, so they decide to just...give chara a nice last few days. chara's favourite area is waterfall, and so frisk does a pacifist go-through up to waterfall, doing things like befriending papyrus etc because hey. this is actually...kind of bittersweetly nice... they befriend undyne and after her house burns down she tries to heal them, key word being tries. she does not manage healing magic. she manages something very close to kandrona rays. frisk and chara Notice of course and hurriedly do their best to talk her through making actual kandrona. at this point they think this is something weird and undyne-specific, like when she melted after frisk hit her enough in the Speedrun Attempts. so that solves that problem. undyne demands explanations which is Very Awkward and then partway through explaining chara and frisk both just kinda simultaneously realize that hey. hey. the punishment for what they're in the middle of doing would be the same as making a hypothetical revolution. might as well do that. in for a penny, in for a pound-and that's the sort of situation that the saying was made by. and then they fall asleep on her because they've been up for ages at this point just running through the underground. they didn't stop to sleep at toriel's or anything. anyway so they do go through the underground mostly like canon frisk and chara, although in this au they can't read ancient monster writing or know anything about the monsters going in they sneak past asgore (in his house) to get to the barrier and find they can't go through it, which they find Deeply Odd-they ask alphys about it and she thinks that's deeply odd too, unless the barrier's got some sort of mechanism to tell what kinds of souls are going through it (it does). this requires telling her about the yeerks too. they discover that the barrier reacts differently to frisk's soul than to the six souls in storage, even when chara is in a bowl. this is odd. frisk does the letter thing and this is like canon except asriel/flowey is assuming frisk is possessed by the first of the six souls.
and then revolutionaries [whatever chara's original name was] and frisk aka chara and cor caroli because i am not giving up the binary star joke
Only semi-crossover; they're both from the extended DC universe. TV's The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow/the original Robin comics with Tim Drake. Okay, so. Tim canonically spent his childhood stalking Batman and Robin at night, from age eight or so until he became Robin at thirteen. He was never caught. So I'm thinking he's in Central city for some reason, school trip maybe, and of course he can't resist the urge to go out and run around on rooftops at night. Thing is, there's no way for him to stalk the Flash - oh, he can track him just fine; he won't be on Hartley's level for a good while yet, but still. It's not that hard for him. And of course he goes to explore the shadier parts of the city first. By rooftop, because that's what he's used to. The thing is, the Rogues' current hideout may be temporary, but they still put in a security system. Unlike in Gotham, Tim doesn't know which roofs aren't safe to walk on. And the Rogues are like ...tiny kid with camera. what the fuck.
I crave a dumb anime crossover between Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball where the Sailor Scouts have to track down whichever chucklefucks keep blowing up the moon.
Force of Will desperately needs FMA au with Kaguya as the main character. She is canonically the sort of person who would attempt human alchemy to bring her mother back to life. Her moms both fit the sorts of people who would be state alchemists too, Zero being more of a soldier and Fiethsing being more of a researcher. Also it'd be fun finding ways to make the cast's epithets into state alchemist names. Like why is Fieth the Spinning Winds Alchemist. What does that even mean. What is a Flashing Light Alchemist.
i just had a horrible idea that i'm not going to follow up further because too much fiddly and how do i even slot Those Guys in there, but: Witcherstuck. (the elves could be slotted into the role of trolls? i guess? but why would they contact dh'oine over a chat client. this is really just because i wanna see Best Adopted Family in goofy god tier hoods) (geralt's planet quest is to open up, goddammit, you are ROTTING inside my dude)
DCTV (mostly flash, because that's what I'm familiar with)/Girl Genius! Mick Rory is a Jaeger. He met Leonard Snart while searching for the Heterodyne; Len was stealing something extremely valuable and Mick was in the right place at the right time and ended up saving him, more for the opportunity to fight than anything else. Len proposes a partnership. Mick has lost the Jaegers he was sent out with to various things, and is starved for companionship. They detour to grab ten-year-old Lisa because Len's not leaving her with their father while he runs around with someone who has the capacity to protect her where he can't. ("How do you know you can trust me?" "I'm an excellent judge of character." Later: "Lenny you liar.") Lisa turns out to be a spark??? Len gets EVEN MORE protective of her. Cisco is a pretty powerful spark. So is Caitlin. So is Barry. Somehow Eo!Wells (Actual Harrison Wells was a spark. Eobard Thawn pretending to be Harrison Wells is also a spark, probably from the future, who came up with the face-stealing technology himself. SCIENCE!!!) has managed to get them all to practically be his minions? Investigative Reporter/Wulfenbach Spy Iris West is On The Case! Iris is probably friends with Gil. They went to school in Paris together. She is still very close to their other Parisian friends as well, and regularly exchanges letters with them. Recently, those letters have tended to be in code, and talk about how strangely Gil's been acting since the whole thing with Mechanicsburg. Eddie is a normal human Wulfenbach detective who fortunately hasn't been wasped, and Iris's fiance. Back on the subject of Barry, I like the idea of his speed being the result of one of Eo!Wells's experiments which he claims has gone wrong but in actuality went exactly right. Eobard has the biggest admiration!crush on the Other. The whole Captain Cold/Heatwave/etc thing goes pretty differently. Lisa and Cisco make the gold gun together, and have a lot of "!!!!!!" type interactions which end in make-outs. The Rogues are a group of constructs, plus Hartley who's a spark, who band together to fight Eo!Wells, along with Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin, who they begrudgingly acknowledge were being manipulated and aren't necessarily evil people. (The Rogues are still criminals. They were pulled together by Len, after all. They're just not, you know, evil criminals.) Iris is instrumental in all this. Then the whole Mechanicsburg thing goes down, and Mick (and Len, who meant it when he said partners, damnit) hightail it out of there because !!! legitimate Heterodyne! (Lisa stays behind and runs the Rogues.) By the time they get there the city is frozen in time, and Mick throws a fit that involves a lot of fire. During that two-year period they end up getting recruited by Rip Hunter. Time travel in GGverse works pretty differently, so I'm thinking they're in an airship, not a timeship, and they're fighting against a spark-cult that Rip used to be part of, and Chronos doesn't happen and Len doesn't die, so there. Also, Ray, Stein, and Jax are sparks, Sara is an ex-smoke knight, and Kendra and Carter are some sort of constructs, maybe? Vandal Savage is still an immortal asshole trying to kill all of their incarnations, because yeah reincarnation is real, why not? But destiny and soulmates aren't real, so Kendra says fuck this and gets together with Sara instead. (Everything I know about LoT comes from fanfiction, so if anyone has better ideas feel free to go wild.) Who knows what they're all doing in current canon. Something epic, probably. ! I forgot the Arrow people. Okay, so Felicity is a spark, and also awesome. ...That's literally all I am qualified to say on the subject; I know next to nothing about Arrow. Or, for that matter, Supergirl. Kara's around and being awesome somewhere too. Maybe she's still an alien? ! Maybe she's from Skifander! That'd be cool. Do movies count? The only DC movies I've seen are Wonder Woman (and that one Catwoman one, which I didn't really like). Diana is a Golem, because why not, and she's probably from Skifander -- the creation of an ancient queen, slumbering beneath the palace until her people need her in a time of unrest...
Reading the DCTV stuff... I kinda wanna see it crossed over with The Tick, now. Particularly Amazon's rendition. Imagine Gotham, but with that T-shaped ship flying around downtown, striking terror (heh) into the hearts of everyone. Little Bruce being "the boy from the photograph" perhaps, or not, but sympathizing (sooner or later) with someone who watched that happen. Which'd set it all well in advance of the Tick's arrival, I suppose, but even then, like, The Terror is the first rendition of the character that made me feel "okay, yeah, that could be the most notorious supervillain in the world" for real. I just want to see how he'd handle the main DC heroes and villains, and then (much later) how the rest of them would handle The Tick. Because I like DC, but even in their lighter stuff, they tend to present a grim and gritty world, and someone so bright and colourful would really make for an interesting contrast, which is how the Tick began, really (like, his first actual comic is him annoying Not Superman). But even the Terror is lighter in some ways, with his Music of the Spheres plans that make no sense but tend to work (or come real close).
Kingdom Hearts / Ace Attorney One goof with a key sword running around hitting people with it and then they tell them all their secrets.
