Captain Marvel x Naruto (mild spoilers) So I'm writing a crossover (surprise surprise) and it's basically - a fuinjutsu accident sends post chunin exam but pre Sasuke deserting Sakura into the marvel cinematic universe, dumping her a couple yards behind captain marvel just in time for I have nothing to prove to you. Sakura: starry eyes Of course on the konoha side they're trying to undo it, and on the mcu side they're looking for a technological solution. ofc Carol can go find a piece of alien tech to help - after she gets the refugees where they're going. So Sakura stays with Maria in the meantime, learning English and learning about a kind of strength that has nothing to do with muscles.
Batman x Naruto (can you tell what I've been into recently) I am physically incapable of resisting reincarnation plotlines once they've entered my brain, so: Tim Drake, of the Red Robin comics (those specifically because they were my favorite of his appearances)(completely pretending nu52 and reboot didn't happen because they did him such a disservice), is reincarnated as Tobirama, and is quite grumpy about it. He keeps an eye on Hashirama (it's Dick all over again!) and warns him and Madera (wtf, where'd this kid come from?!) when Izuna comes to spy on him. And he's 100% on board with the whole peace thing. So peace comes earlier. Also, lots of angst over killing people. Also, so much experimentation! He must know All The Things. There hasn't been a real concentrated study of chakra yet, and sealwork outside of the Uzumaki is incredibly limited... This is super frustrating to him, and he is Determined to rectify the situation. Remembers in flashbacks, triggered largely by injuries Full memory by 16ish Search for coffee every mission possible Constantly (and unsuccessfully) pester Hashirama to grow super caffeinated tea Create caffeine pills Everyone does their level best to prevent him from using these Probably creates a fuinjutsu to keep him awake, but no longer uses it on pain of Mito. Great at administration but terrible at politics and people At his low points works on Edo Tensei, but realizes with the help of friends and family, that it's as futile as cloning Kon and stops People who can put a stop to his research binges: Itama: puppy eyes, sincere request Touka: blunt force Mito: sheer terror Also Itama lives, I don't make the rules Natural resting pokerface Still a total dork underneath it all; freaks Izuna out every time
Mob Psycho 100 and My Hero Academia crossover, wherein Reigen is the only person in the entire faculty to go "Wow let's not teach teenagers to use lethal force maybe!" and maybe he'd argue against admitting (for example) students whose powers severely injure themselves, or students who keep trying to beat up their peers. Maybe not exciting from a shonen story angle but way better on my blood pressure. Spoiler Does regular dude Reigen have any reason to be a teacher in Japan's most prestigious Hero School? Probably not. I don't know how he got in and frankly I'm not sure he does either. He's just waiting for the shoe to drop.
He's a somewhat-respected local hero with a quirk that is definitely real and very useful and how dare you suggest otherwise? (He is, of course, quirkless and does heroics in the same way canon Reigen does, simultaneously very well and very sketchily, with a lot of off-the-books help from his "sidekick".) Applies to teach there when Mob makes plans to go, gets a spot because he's a hero with actual teaching experience and they don't have as many of those as maybe they ought to.
Boku no Hero Academia meets The Magnus Archives -- the bnha world is the tma world, just that the Extinction won. Maybe not fully? Maybe just in unexpected ways.
Where oh where is my trollstuck Captain Marvel fic? Am i going to have to write it myself? Could go with beforus and keep the plot mostly the same (how noble and tragic, Carol is forced to leave behind her matesprit (Maria) and moirail (Fury) to rescue an oppressed people!). Or set it on alternia and make it into a story of revolution!! Maybe with the canon beta trolls.
Homestuck/Good Omens crossover. Nonsburb au, but first guardians are still a thing. First contact is happening between Earth and Alternia (and Earth is joining up with the rebellion and refusing to be subjugated, because that's my default for this kind of setting). Aziraphale is Earth's first guardian; Crowley is Alternia's. They're both involved in the rebellion, and of course they fall in love. Lots of friction and ridiculous shenanigans, and Aziraphale is actually more frightening than Crowley. Or "Crowly", because troll names.
Good Omens x Batman! Tim Drake is Warlock Stephanie Brown is Adam There is an eldritch being under Gotham, which is why Aziraphale moved there. (Crowley moved there because Aziraphale moved there.) It's not like it's hard to convince the head office that he's spreading sin in Gotham. Aziraphale and Crowley basically raise Tim by themselves (they have to take turns holding each other back from doing something to the Drakes for the treatment of their son.) The book of prophecy was in Martha Kane's family, but when she and her husband die Bruce (then 8) is like "if it's so true, why didn't it save them?" but his mother treasured it, so he put it under glass. For all his intelligence, Dick Grayson isn't that big on books... But Jason Todd is. Jason is thirteen when he finds and reads the book, just a year from his death and just days from the "apocalypse". The Lazarus pits are a side effect of the eldritch being(s? maybe), so Agnes can't see them; post resurrection Jason is visible in the prophesies by what isn't said. Same with Talia and Ra's. Angels and demons (but mostly angels) really hate eldritch beings - they're not made by Her! Tim Figures Stuff Out, because he's Tim, and ends up helping out with the whole apocalypse thing and becoming friends with Steph and the Them (Harper and Cullen Row, and Artemis Crock). (Although Artemis is a bit older and ends up being more like a babysitter who is also a superhero... Maybe I'll age her down instead.) (No matter how much I love museum heist.)
I found this neat fan crossover someone edited together between Invader Zim and Steven Universe, I like it: @Acey
That’s one of my favorite videos!! I love IZ, and obviously I love SU, and it’s so funny and absurdly well-edited!! tl;dr everything about that vid is great and I’m glad you shared it!!
crossposting this here since no one reads tumbo any more: So someone I read recently posted a thing saying there should be more Muppets versions of classic books like The Muppets Treasure Island and The Muppets Christmas Carol. Here, then, is a partial casting for The Muppets Hobbit. Bilbo - Kermit. Obviously. Gandalf the Grey - Gonzo the Great. Thorin and the dwarves - Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, plus more to fill in the numbers. The dwarves are all known to play instruments or sing, and Dr. Teeth has the best beard on the show. Beorn - Fozzie Bear the king of the wood elves - Sam the Eagle Bard the Bowman - Scooter, maybe? Smaug - Miss Piggy. She would have SO much fun with Smaug’s boasts. Still not sure who’d be Gollum, or the goblins.
The two reblogs I saw both had suggestions for Gollum, and I can't decide which I like more... Cookie Monster or Andy Serkis (as a human, no CGI)
I love that when thinking if I could come up with a suggestion, both of those crossed my mind. I think Gollum as Statler and Waldorf might also work, with the riddles/questions and the possible jokes for when Frodo vanishes with the ring.
Kencyrath AU for Three Houses. That is we're slapping the Three Houses crew into Rathillien. In terms of like setting changes, the general Kencyrath lore would stay the same because Kencyrath without Knorths just ain't Kencyrath. Those hot messes are vital to this world's existing and making sense. However I don't feel like dealing with Jame and Tori's asses at the same time as the trash fires that are the Three Houses characters. So in terms of when it takes place it will take place at some like. Middle point between the Fall and Jame's showing the back fuck up in the Haunted Lands. So there's still a Knorth Highlord in place and still Knorth women running about. Yay. BUT NOW WE'RE MAKING THE FUCKS FROM THREE HOUSES INTO KENCYR HOUSES. Like House Gautier? Hell fucking yeah that's in. Sylvain's now got command voice. Sylvain is the sort of man we do not want to have anything so much as resembling command voice. But he's got it now. House Hresvelg? Hell yeah they're here and having their family's power be slowly stripped away by other houses because it is a vicious life in Highborn society. By and large the commoners will be Kendar or Kencyr with only a fraction of Highborn blood. A few characters will be from other areas though as well. Petra for example is now a Merikit or from some other hill tribe. i have no fucking idea what to even do with claude because his deal just is hard to fit into this fucking insular hell society But at least we can say that Edelgard's miserable childhood now instead involves her brothers being assassinated over the course of years while she and her sisters got subjected to horrible, horrible things with blood binding. Got to test the limits of it. Got to see just what kind of shit one can do that people don't know about yet. Got to get practice in. Also Dimitri's deal is like. PERFECT. For a Highborn. Well, both his and Edelgard's mental states are honestly. But like Dimitri just. He's like. PEAK Highborn issues. Edelgard is like PEAK might fucking Fall issues though. The professor and her father are a pair of yondri-gon. Her dad leads other similar yondri-gon around as a pack of mercenaries battling about in the hopes of finding a hearth to stay in (and to avoid Rhea and the Priests' College). Manuela and Hanneman are both at Mt. Alban. She's a singer. He's a scrollsman. They hate each other so bad. AND EVERYONE GETS AN EPITHET. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE YET BUT BOY IS EVERYONE GETTING ONE. LIKE YOU BERNIE. YOU CAN BE BERNADETTA SHUTINDOORS OR SOMETHING DUMB.
So, I know nothing of Kencyrath, so there may be other subtleties to this question that aren't immediately apparent to me. That having been said, my top five picks from Three Houses for "giant psychic cat lawyer vibes" are, in no particular order: Annette Alois Linhardt Hilda Claude
Subtleties do exist yes! The cat lawyers in particular are...They are big and they are very, very spooky. Out of the Kencyrath they are the most serious about the law. Which is saying something since all Kencyr have at least some degree of obsession with that. But the Arrin-ken have the most obsession with it because they were charged by God to be the interpreters of the law and the peoples' judges. Arrin-ken are thus very prone to argument and being around an arrin-ken is a somewhat terrifying experience, to put it mildly. Because here's someone who can and will pronounce a judgment of death upon you, which is something that you must absolutely abide to Or Else. They're also currently very standoffish and haven't had contact with the main body of the Kencyrath in ages due to be absolutely fucking fed up with them and their horseshit. So they're not like friendly cats but more like...cats that fill you with a deep understanding of how they can and will tear you to fucking shreds where you stand and that your life hangs in the balance here.
