she might need a hero, but i'm crushing on her voice i keep getting doki doki over husky, confident voices of women who aren't interested in me and now I'm listening to this because I hate my ears.
Nicki Minaj and the Young Money group have a lot of pretty good stuff. Kanye and Childish Gambino are pretty good too. I like some of Big Sean's stuff, and French Montana is pretty good. If I can find the lesser known hip hop list my friend sent me, I'll post some stuff from that. I really like a lot of beats to it, but I haven't done a lot of digging on my own.
This might be 'cheating' because it's not new music, but I really like it and wanted to share it with people because I think it's super cool and soothing.
@ZeroEsper i think "current music" means "music you're listening to right now," not "new music," so you're probably fine.
@Dist I've only got a few of his songs on my iTunes, but Busdriver is pretty good and pretty damned funny.
I discovered that most of the Apocalyptica discography is free on Amazon prime and I've listened to nothing else for three straight days.
holy shit this is such a good mesmerizing video the music reminds me a little of some of the stuff from OFF, but with far more life to it. And the video is that lovely moving collage way of taking clips and putting them to repeat, like the stuff youtube poops do, but it's done in great rhythm with the music. all the repeating 50's idealistic images, and the repeating cycles of machinery, and the repeating cycles of people in tune with the machines so you get little girls hopping out of an oven as a housewife opens and closes its door, skipping over the infinite cycle of boys sliding down and climbing up multiple slides in a row... and then it gets way sillier/stranger
I really like the chorus of that. The way the power of her voice builds and presses, the rhythm and repetition of it. But I haven't found any other songs of hers that do that. :((((
