A person what is become one of my fave blues singers - Janiva Magness. Has a bit of a country sound to her voice but is so awesome at getting emotion out even before I read the lyrics to know what she's saying.
I might has posted this before but since it is the bestest blues tune ever made it bears repeating. Has awesome sax (in public, no less!), the emotional finger twiddles of Jimmy Thackery (he actually makes his guitar express some really deep emotions). and the amazing J.P. Soars who plays a guitar as if it was a mandolin (He's got to have at least three hands to do what he does to a guitar).
The normal version of this song came on the radio at work today and it sounded incredibly surreal. I have been ruined by neil cicierega
because that Atomic Blonde trailer. edit: correction, the trailer version is apparently at https://soundcloud.com/untitledd/personal-yeezus
somebody finally released this on its own, it's from the American Gods trailer and it's perfect for the show
this has been my favorite song for the past week or so, an anthem for looking back fondly on a wild childhood
