oh yeah parrots are compact little destruction machines, giving them *more* size and therefor more brain is not a good idea, especially since literally every end of birb is sharp and every investigation nibble or climb likely to be a little ouch even on the smallest ones. Big sized real life parrots can easily break fingers if they're pissed enough. I don't want to know what horseshit a parakeet of griffin size could get up to

i have suddenly found myself doing text RP for the first time ever with one of my fellow players! it’s weird. harder than regular old tabletop improv, but easier too because of the extra time to think. the scenario is that our party accidentally became celebrities, both our characters hated it, and so we ended up hiding from our fanbase together for three days. he’s the one who suggested it and i think he has a lot more in mind for how it might go, but i’m having fun with it!

oh yeah also our last session was amazing! there was such a cool fight scene in a casino, Tiny (the dude i mentioned above) and Myria (me) walked in and mowed our way through a line of mooks! i grabbed someone in the face with Chill Touch! i threw someone across the room with Witch Bolt!! the DM rolled a couple of critical failures lmao. and then later the party kicked enough ass to derail the plot, we captured someone who was supposed to get away ^^ honestly we feel a little OP, i kinda hope we get some harder enemies next time.

also the subplots are growing like weeds. i gotta start writing down everything Myria knows - she may have a good memory, but i sure don’t >_< and my lack of memory has been hurting my roleplaying i think, since i haven’t gotten as involved in subplots for the sake of my brain... and i still need to make spell cards... so much to do!

More Dungeon of the Mad Mage shenanigans: our whole party got trapped in a narrow corridor with a rolling boulder, Indiana Jones style, and somehow the two characters with the absolute worst dexterity were the ones who saved against it. The two most dexterous characters got knocked unconscious by it. Congrats, guys.

I'm putting together a little background for my paladin's religion, since I haven't found much about her goddess online. (Astilabor, draconic goddess of acquisition, who represents a dragon's instinct to hoard) Her animal is the bower bird, because it's not just what you've got, it's how you flaunt it.

Any suggestions for commandments a goddess like that might have? So far I have "Grow and defend your hoard," "do not steal," and "repay your debts."

Maybe something about not being afraid/hesitant to love and desire things?

That definitely sounds like a jealous god. Thou shalt have no other god before her, because you are part of her hoard.

She might also be acquisitive enough to require her followers to proselytize. At least I think she'd require public signs of allegiance to her - vestments or visible holy symbols or whatnot - because what's the point of having you if she can't flaunt you?

Possibly something about taking care of the things you have claimed? Not all storytale dragons do, but some are obsessive polishers and so on--and who wants a hoard too rusty to show off?

Interestingly, I could see her also being in favor of a bit of sneaking and skulduggery. After all, you want to show your hoard off, but you also don't want people knowing how to get to it safely when you're not around. Seems the sort of god that'd be down with tricks and traps and things in order to protect what's important.

Heyo! At 11am central time (a half hour from this post) the Company of the Broken Sword and the multiple arrest records will be at it again. Come join our DM Aulddragon as he deals with the lot of us in AD&D Spelljammer! I play Sinrae.

Personal highlight from amnesia game I started running today: dragonborn attempted to melt down the iron cell bars, forgot blue dragons do lightning instead. Rogue looks up from the makeshift lockpick he found to see the lock he was about to pick sparking

Boyfriend's newest character is "the gobliniest gnome you've ever seen." She's an urban druid with an indeterminate number of rats on her person at any given time who thinks that storing things in her ungodly mass of hair is a reasonable idea. (To be fair, I don't think anyone in their right mind wants to poke their hand in her hair.) This is all topped off with a breathy, faintly gollum-y voice.

    I love her very much.

A perfect friend for my party's "definitely a gnome, not at all a goblin, do you think only goblins have green skin, that's offensive, sir, how dare you?" goblin.

Especially good since she also has green skin. I'm sure she'd jump right to a fellow gnome's defense.

Did they fix the sword, or did they just come across a wooden duck and go "oooooo"?
