Library cafe Les laughs at the cat daemons. "But sleep is for the weak!" He jokes, as harris hops dow onto his lap to tuck his head under the open flap of Les' hoodie. Its not a good wing replacement, but it does the job. "And the uncaffinated," the hawk mutters sleepily. "Here, how about this?" Les offers, flipping the sketchbook around.
Emmett laughed at the increasingly annoyed expression on Charlotte's face. He looked closely at the picture. "Wow. That is wicked cool," Emmett said, and then smiled. "Are you an art major?" Charlotte asked, recovering a bit from the frustration of having her fur mussed.
"Yeah, im doin digital art, but all the foundational classes are traditional media. Well, and i guess this stuff is easier to carry around than the computer and tablet dealies. How bout you all?
"I'm a bio major. I was thinking about going into medicine originally, but now, nah. It's pretty fun, but also damn stressful. Chemistry is the worst class. Ever."
"I'm doing classics," "Which means that I get to look at myself all day," Diana said, doing whatever the cat equivalent to preening is. Ariel sighed, "You're not the goddess Diana, Diana."
Library cafe Re went straight to the counter to order the last donut-like pastry they had, and a non-chocolate cookie for Dustin. "Awww sweet, they're usually out of this kind by this point in the day. Guess not too many people wanted to brave the snow, huh?" She tossed the treat to Dustin, who caught it and swallowed it in one bite. "Thanks." She rolled her eyes. "Chew, why don't you." Re looked up and saw that nearly everyone in the cafe was crowded around one table in particular. Shrugging, she edged closer to see what was going on.
"Bio is pretty rad though. Girl I had a crush on in highschool is off doing medical research of some sort now. Idk, its all pretty over my head. Classics sounds fun too. Any idea what you want to do with it, job-wise?"
"Science sucks. English all the way," Sandra said, with feeling. "Classics is cool, though. We read a lot of Greek and Latin stuff in my English History classes. Translated, of course, but, you know." Sandra popped the last of her muffin in her mouth, then walked the few feet over to her table. There, she dug around in her duffle bag for a moment, before straightening up with a pleased sound. She waved a bag of Turkey Jerky over her head for a second before returning to the others. Casually, she leaned against the table, opened the bag, and then tossed a piece of jerky into the air. With a snap of his wings, Adrastos launched himself after it. He plucked it out of the air at the height of its arc before returning to the cafe's sign. "You know," Sandra called after him. "You can join us over here. No one bites." Adrastos started tearing apart his prize, shooting a golden-eyed glare at her to show how much he thought of the idea. Sandra turned back to the others. "I'm sorry about him. He can be really shy around new people. It's nothing you guys did, it's just a part of Adrastos." She shrugged.
"Hey, science is awesome!" Emmet pouted. He grinned afterwards, though. He awkwardly shifted Charlotte to free up an arm, and grabbed his coffee. "Hey, science is awesome!" Emmet pouted. He grinned afterwards, though. "I do like English though. I'm actually better at it then my actual major..." He awkwardly shifted Charlotte to free up an arm, and grabbed his coffee. "That's okay. It isn't insulting or anything."
Ariel sighed. "Probably you know, teaching or something. Or translating, or something to do with archeological digs."
Re took a deep breath to calm herself, and then stepped up to the table. "Yo, humanities all the way. What are we talking about?" She grinned, but didn't move to put her bag down, at least not yet. Dustin stood just behind her, but stayed back a bit so he didn't crowed the table, or freak out any of the others.
Harris gave a spare bob of his head as the treat sailed past him, but otherwise stayed still and quiet at his perch. After a moment, he gave a careful little hop and turned his back on Adrastos in a show of non-aggression. Meanwhile, Les flashed a quck smile at the newcomer. "Just chatting so far, i think. Looks like we're all gonna be stuck here for a while, so figured it'd be cool to get to know each other. I'm Les, the unsociable asshat up here is Harris. Wanna join us? We're only mostly nerds, far as I can tell."
((OOC= are you referring to me? Or Sandra, or?)) Re smiled and dragged a chair from a near by table over. "Thanks! Hell yes, nerds are awesome. I'm Re, linguistics major. The puppy dog at my heels is Dustin." Dustin made a growling noise for a moment. "Hey, I resent that!" But, Re just patted his head and ignored him.
Sandra grinned at Emmet, relief clear on her face. "I'm glad you think so. Some people aren't so understanding." From his perch, Adrastos eyed Harris. It was a kind gesture, and Adrastos would take it as such. Emmet and his daemon also seemed to be a decent sort. The newcomer, Re, seemed rather cheery, but Addy had yet to figure out if it was an act or not. Ariel appeared to be a non-threat, regardless of her actual attitude. The others down there were pretty much equally mysterious to him, though. Adrastos tore another piece off of his jerky, watching the group carefully all the while. Meanwhile, Sandra was waving at Re. "Hello! I'm Sandra, and my daemon is Adrastos. He's pretty shy, so he's hanging out over there." She gestured towards the bird with a flick of her wrist. "He'll warm up and come down eventually, though. We really are going to be stuck here for a while."
Emmett had to re-adjust his arms again, but once he had, he waved. "I'm Emmett, and the fluffball I'm carrying is named Charlotte. I'm fairly certain we are getting nowhere today."
Dustin gave a short bark. "I'm right here, but Re gets mad at me if I try to climb on her." "Of course I do! You're too big, ugh." She addressed Diana, "Don't worry though, he can behave himself." ((Edit: whoops, I meant to say it's not a problem!)) Re waved back. "Aww, he's pretty though!" She waved up at him. "Yeah. How were you guys planning on passing the time?"
"Well, I dunno. Will probably just keep drawing as long as I can con people into holding still for me, not like the life-drawing sessions are probably happening in this weather. Other people mentioned reading, and I figured we could just--" The lights flickered once, twice, and went out. "Uh. Just sit in the dark?"
"Welp. That's a thing that happened. Does anyone have a flashlight or anything? That could be useful." Emmett shrugged and waited for his eyes to adjust. "I have an idea," Charlotte piped up, "Have any of you heard that there's supposed to be tunnels under the school?"
