the live action is bad and should feel bad and we don't talk about it but if you wanna get drunk and make yourself upset, watch it and be angry
Yay! Now it's all sunshine and rainbows from here on out. Also I guess I should have figured that the live action was bad since I saw so many people hyping it up before it came out and then dead silence about it afterward. I never got around to seeing it myself.
The effects looked so good. I was so excited ;-; And look. You cannot compress the entire series into two hours. I don't care how talented and true to the source material you are, it's just not going to be good.
yeah the live action movie's plot is kind of rushed and disoriented, but that's not what makes it so bad to me: it has none of the characterization of the original! none of the characters have any personality! i was really disappointed by that, because the effects do indeed look great.
I love Brotherhood but Alphonse lost 80% of his sass from the manga Spoiler Ishval needed at least one more full episode to get across the full impact. Also Dublith got tragically cut down There's a lot of short scenes and comedy bits that got trimmed for pacing or whatever, but Brotherhood is still real good.
The live action I never had any hopes for when I learned it was an adaptation and also saw clips from it. There was never any hopes for it once that came out. Also hello yes I am part of the 'i like original anime mostest' contingent of the fandom. We are a rare breed. I will suggest that after you get through Brotherhood you do try and give the original a chance, vuaston. Its a bit of a mess in terms of its later plot and the movie didn't really fix my issues with its ending exactly, but I do think that its tone and some of what it does with certain characters is worth experiencing it for. Also it has the Ready, Steady, Go opening which is one the best fucking openings in anime history. Just. Fuck. Look at it. Cry with me at it. perfection
I’m liking Brotherhood so much that I definitely plan to watch the original when I’m done! And read the manga, and even watch the live action (with alcohol) Damn that is a good opening
IT REALLY IS. I just love how the animation is timed with the song itself. And Ready, Steady, Go's already a good song. But damn accompanied by that animation it is now godly. Feels fitting for the tone of the series too.
“You can lie there and literally become a foundation of this base, Lieutenant General Raven.” IM IN LOVE AND SO IS EVERYONE WHO WORKS FOR HER, THE LITTLE FISTPUMP THEY DID WHEN SHE SAID THAT, HOLY SHIT ITS SO GOOD
I love the little band of misfits Scar somehow managed to accumulate (I just got to the bit where they split up). That was probably the most sustained contact he’s had with any group of people since his family was killed, huh? Not to mention the first time he’s been part of a team, with shared goals and even trust.
I choose to believe that both of the Armstrong siblings had an instant crush on Izumi Curtis and her husband
