My warden is an elf mage, she clearly wins the oppression olympics (I have A Lot Of Feelings about her and Anders and how her Aequitarianism interacts with his Shit and I love their friendship........... I love my warden and I love Anders)
Basically, I love Anders, don't get me wrong, but if he could stop doing his #notALLmages tumblr apologist thing that'd be grand. (I once ran into an Anders RPer who was a big Fenders shipper, so I agreed to try against her... first three pages of the gdoc was Anders trying to get Fenris to admit that he'd exaggerated his past abuse because of unfounded magephobia. And she (the Anders player) seemed to think that trampling all over his buttons was find and would lead to sexy times, not Fenris's arm jammed through her character's chest so far his hand came out of his mouth. Can u not.) Suffice to say, I deleted that doc and her contact details. People who can only see in black-and-white drive me up the wall.
Holy shit, that's creepy. If anything, Fenris was understated about the abuse he suffered if you read between the lines, so again, holy shit.
like, i'm the first to admit i'm a huge mage rights broken record, but dude. there's just no excuse for the Fenris thing. anyway people, more news on the Aryan Dragon Age front, it's now Literally Criminal to make edits of brown Fiona and Alistair
VANDALISM. Because an edit automatically changes the original and any other copies across all forms of media. This is why it's literally impossible to find any dubbed anime's Japanese version; they've all been replaced by other languages. It's very disappointing to fans who want to watch something, any time a new version comes out they have to learn a new language to understand what's going on.
LMAO. Vandalism. I figure this one is a dumbass on two fronts - they don't understand how transformative works work, which makes their whining look even dumber than it already is and doesn't hide the racism even a little bit. GOSH I WONDER WHY THE PERSON WHO DID THOSE EDITS BLOCKED THEM. GEE. Good lord, one of their responses.
Alright so! I'm in Act 1 of DAII with my 3rd canon playthrough of the Dragon Age series (I have 4 planned, and have completed 2 extra playthroughs of Inquisition and am gonna do AT LEAST 1 more, maybe 2, because I love... Inquisition... I understand every single reason people complain about it but I just love... Inquisition so much... fite me...) *ahem* Anyway, part of the reason for having 4 canon playthroughs was to do all 4 romances for Origins AND all 4 romances for 2. So this playthrough features Benjamin Hawke who is romancing Anders, and while I'm surprised to find myself REALLY GETTING INTO THE ROMANCE AW YES, Anders still skeeves me out because he reminds me of one nasty former friend I have IRL /: it's partially the dramatics, partially the bipolarity and partially the stubble.
Spoiler: dragon age 2 liveblog w/ endgame spoilers I got to the part where Anders blows up the Chantry. WELP. Agatha couldn't kill him, just sent him away (and my headcanon is that she adds "before I take your fucking head") , and he didn't even turn around to look at her. At least Bethany shows back up? But Agatha can't even really enjoy it because she's gone into the thousand yard stare mode of "what are feelings? nope, nope, don't care for those. my only feelings are STAB EVERYTHING." It is super awesome and I am genuinely delighted by how awful it all is.
@glitterchance Wow, romancing Anders without knowing what he does in Act 3 is just... it's the kind of horrible experience I'm actually a bit ENVIOUS of you for having. Just like I envy people who romanced a certain character in Inquisition without knowing of his Dramatic Background Reveal at the end of the game (... actually... there's 2 romanceabke characters in Inquisition with Dramatic Revelations) Speaking of which, will you be playing Inquisition?
oh my god out of curiosity I'm backreading your entire liveblog and all your entries just kill me, this just kills me
I actually started with Inquisition before DA:O and DA:2. Somehow, because I had Anders and Alistair mixed up and because I have a terrible memory, I knew there was a big inciting incident kicking off the mage/templar wars at the end of DA2 but not how it went down. I JUST WANTED TO RIDE THE BULL, DAMMIT. *hands* It was a super awesome experience added to by the fact that the thread said romancing Anders was fun. Terribad angsty fun. Thank you guys for flailing with me. :D
