I thought the model’s strong legs and staff lent itself well to a spearfishing otter. I had thought to maybe do a trident, but was not confident I could pull it off well enough. In any case, I am especially happy with the claws on this piece. Otters are plantigrade, so getting the paws right without my usual digitigrade shorthand was a challenge. I think the added tones to the swimsuit and spear adds interest. Thought?
Finished a drawing I wasn't sure I was going to finish. I'm enjoying my "sketch something out, don't do actual lineart but clean the sketch some" method a lot lately, it gets sstuff done fairly fast and gives what would otherwise be a very stiff drawing some movement.
