i haven't drawn my fantrolls in so long i forgot what i designed them like.... i literally just drew this right now the brown one's name is cirrus, he is a fucking weeaboo who has a dorky wingsuit and a harpoon gun/grapple his teal friend there deals drugs to rich seadwellers, the drugs are from an urchin or something that only her lusus can hunt. she has a wakeboard and together they are extreme sports idiots. they are idiots and they're gonna die. she sells to a blueblood brony wannabe dj (you know the type?) and two purple girls who love to get high and throw parties. blue wants to hang out with them but he never will. he is in the dork cru with cirrus and the green friend who deals with teal. i haven't developed the green guy much
Posted this in the poetry thread and writing, and now posting it here XD See, this semester I am taking a class called small press editing. Basically, we learn how to create a literary magazine from the ground up. That being said, my college has two lit mags. one for masters and one for undergrads. I'm part of the undergrad one. We have two publications, Zaum, which is the print and calls for submissions happen in the fall semester and Zaum xs, which is the online one which takes submissions in the spring semester. I thought I'd bring this up here because we are still open for submissions until march 17th 11:59pm PST. If anyone is interested in submitting, go to zaumpress.net and check the rules and such (but for the love of god, please don't look at the horror that was last years' zaum xs, I'm not sure they knew what they were doing...). Or... ask me about it? (we're looking for poetry, prose, non-fiction and art).
I feel you. I try every now and then, but it's been really discouraging. My suggestion is don't start any big projects or expect a whole lot at first. Try to draw things that are easy for you(figures and eyes work pretty well for me). Do you like drawing from life? I find it takes less brain cells and I don't have to think about all the details and such that go into drawings that come from head.
@Morven these things, they kick your ass but they'll make you good at art again http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/
Yay, drawing thread! Here's my sketchblog and here's my dA. (I'm taking commissions!) Spoiler: This is what I'm currently working on. Spoiler: A teeny-tiny stalker I drew yesterday.
Time for some (very experimental) Gravity Falls fanart! Spoiler: there's blood on your hands, miss northwest I will never be over this episode I s2g
I like doing things in threes! Spoiler: Thing I drew today Next two are older but directly related: Spoiler: Original sketch(drawn about ten years ago) Spoiler: Digital version(made last year and it's my pride and joy)
This is not technically the first thing I've drawn for probably months, because I went to an art club for the first time on friday and drew something there. But it's the first thing I've put a decent amount of effort into for months. It's an image that's been floating in my head for a couple of days; I wanted to draw my OC Dave with a hairstyle I ganked from a minor anime character. So today I actually sat down and did it. I fully expected to hate it and give up halfway through but here it is and I want to cry because I don't hate it. Spoiler: Stupid weeabo asshole
Spoiler: image Something I just finished drawing. Not quite happy with it, but I am determined to post more things on my art blog.
Things I do: pause horror movies and draw faces. I think she came out a little more simple-lined than I'd like, and her head isn't quite at the right angle... But it's a helluvalot better than when I started doing this. I think I've finally found the size of paper I like working with, too. Spoiler: piksha
i've always loved the term "mother nature" even as a lil bit, but i could never figure out how to picture her. SO. i had a thought a while back - what if instead of just mother nature it was two sisters, flora and fauna? Spoiler: cool linearts, if i do say so myself B)
Spoiler: my aesthetic: pseudo-japanese schoolgirl yanderes from western cartoons I'm not actually sorry.
I finally drew something complete after like a five month drawing funk.... I am really into Steven Universe lately so I drew my gemsona... They're a Tiger's Eye! Spoiler: Tiger's Eye the fashionless wonder!
Drawing a tree in art class, got bored, added a dead guy? Spoiler: Drawing with a pencil is fun! The squiggles in the upper left are to indicate the light source. And it doesn't really show up in the photo, but there's a very lightly-sketched city down in the valley past the tree. I think I might just add ghosts to all of my assignments from now on. I like the class, but drawing inanimate objects like lamps and chairs is both boring and difficult (which I guess means I need to practice drawing them more, but ... ugh).
