I have no idea where else to ask this does anyone have any suggestions/ideas/references for like...a pose that is supposed to come across as both panicked/terrified and a little bit defensive like. deathly afraid of what is in front of them but also self-preservation instincts dictate 'try to protect yourself' I'm trying to draw a thing and....struggling and I can't. find pose references for the thing by Googling, I have tried and failed and since I'm blocking out most of the face in this I need to communicate a lot with the pose itself rather than expression and I just. I can't picture things in my head for shit, I do not possess a full-body mirror or tiny wooden figure to pose with, and I can't really work with posing software. I have tried. I just....it's hard when I have an IDEA of what the thing looks like, and this, I don't even know what it'd look like at all. help pls
I would say... Body curved away from threat, knees bent, arms bent, and held away from body in front of face, in fists if unarmed and holding a weapon double handed if armed. Not sure that's helpful, but it's what I immediately thought of as a scared-slash-defensive posture.
that is actually very helpful!! it definitely fits the concept, I think, but all I could come up with was just....'arms bent', so. thank you :D
yes hello this is my dnd character Cheer, a tiefling monk. idk how to do background stuff since this is my first game, and we wont even be playing for a couple of months from now anyway lol Spoiler
Has anyone here done "character adoptions" before, and how do you get started? Do you have to have a big portfolio of other art first? I'm not great at drawing but am good at character concepts and I wondered if maybe I could try doing that.
This advice is kind of furry focused but maybe it will be of help. I have not done it personally but follow and have bought from folks who do. You might want to look into bases. I certainly know a lot of furry artists do bases that you are allowed to then sell adoptables from. You do not need a starting gallery and audiance but it helps. Lots of folks on FA upload frequent reminders with links back to the original post and then deleting the reuploads after a day or so. I have personally clicked on adopts I have seen on the front-page for the second or so they are there but it is not guaranteed that anyone will notice you. There are also Twitter accounts buyfurryart, adoptafur, furryadopt and furpromo who will retweet you if you @ them
