You know, if I were a furry, I'd make my fursona a smol fat cat that is also dressed up like a mage from a JRPG. (possibly give it bird wings, because why the fuck not this is fantasy anyways) (I'm still mildly surprised that I never fell into the furry fandom because everything I loved as a kid is really popular with furries. I think it's because a lot of anthro animals hit the uncanny valley for me unless they are really stylized?)

furry stuff is vaguely interesting but i have like no real investment in anthro animals except that there is some p cute fursonas out there. i think i'd probably make a chinchilla based fursona if i ever got into it because i too am a fuzzy fragile little thing that has volume regulation problems and will keep people up at night by being too awake.
@Void i like that its mouth is the "vore hole." (lol my ipad's autocorrect tried to make it the "vote hole." like, drop a ballot into a dog's mouth, it goes down the chute and yay, DEMOCRACY!)
Finally giving myself a loose base to work from as far as drawing cartoony versions of myself. I've never had a good enough perception of myself as anything more than a massive gray blob, and I've still got little sense of self or self worth/esteem. SO. This is the first step in changing that. Looked at myself objectively instead of subjectively, and I'll experiment with even more varied versions in the future.
I want to try painting, so I gave myself a limited palette and worked all on one layer. (I did do the hair on another layer, later.) One thing I'm wanting is more brushes, but Googling isn't turning up a lot for Photoshop Elements (which is what I used for this). I've downloaded SAI and I have a couple of other art programs so I guess I'll try painting in one of those later and see what kind of brushes they have...?

Spoiler: Like these colors Oh, and to give you a better idea of what I had in mind for the "mage from a JRPG thing" (because I googled it and apparently the designs are a little more diverse than the mental image I had in my head lol) I was thinking of designs like the white mage cloak in final fantasy or wavemasters in .hack that wear big comfy looking cloaks with simple geometric designs. Spoiler: suddenly this post became really image heavy edit: you know it occurs to me despite all these fursonas there's no furry thread. if one is made I humbly suggest the title "take me down to the furrycon city where the dogs are green and the lizards have titties"
... just realized this morning my tablet has no pressure sensitivity. and i can't find the installation disc. tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers. I have pen flicks now, but still no pressure sensitivity. I'm working in Sai and PS Elements 13. I can't find the pen sensitivity options in either of them. Anyone know anything about Monoprice tablets? It was amazing when i first got it. thing i was doing when figured out: a bunch of phoned-in gifs for an mspa forum adventure, here.
crrrappy phone photo but I've been drawing in pen lately so I splurged on a set of colored pens and got my 16-year old high school emo aesthetic on w/ my MMO OC (same one from the comic i linked in the comic thread) I never want to draw this armor again...and yet...I have about 18 more pages of that comic to finish. everything is done BUT the armor.
