This thing: (There's a lovingly animated shot of grass doing the thing in every single Studio Ghibli film I can think of, hence Ghibli Grass Ripples)
Can't sleep? Draw fantrolls. Spoiler: wip - sketch (it's entirely too appropriate that "Royals" came on Pandora while I was doing this)
And a little over an hour later, a (99%) finished product. (I typically put their sign next to their name for the portraits from this set, but Praduz is actually @Anomal(eee)'s, and I don't remember his sign off the top of my head.) Spoiler: we got a badass over here
Meet Decepticon MTO Medic Half Life. I maaaaaay have a problem where I enjoy making Transformers-OCs too much (this is number 14 for those keeping count)
another kind of old picture that i am still very proud of despite the anatomy problems ricky owens from scooby-doo! mystery incorporated is my child and always will be look at his fabulous hair
@Carnivorous Moogle AHH I looked at the picture before reading the caption and was like "is that that character?" AND THEN IT WAS NICE I like it :D
@Carnivorous Moogle HIGHFIVE if im being honest i liked everything about the show up to the very very end. it just felt like a huge let down and copout
YEASSSSS Spoiler: spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it myself i love the ending just for the sheer weight of fucked-up bittersweet horror it adds to the entire rest of the show on rewatch. EVERYONE DIES, ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE, AND MOST OF THEM DO NOT DIE HAPPY EVERYTHING HURTS WHY THIS also, i also just found a humanized picture i drew of a certain other character that actually turned out well imo even if he does look a little too fresh-faced lookit this smug little bastard he's probably plotting a murder as we speak (i feel like i may have posted this one before but i am not sure. oh well)
@Carnivorous Moogle Spoiler I didnt mind the death part, but i hated the "reset" everything is horrible, on fire, demons/gods, death you save the world aaaaaaaaand get dropped into a universe where none of it happened, you had perfect lives, none of your trauma (i think only scoob remembered, right?) is real anymore, and you cant talk about it. really unvalidating Holy fuck the professor hell yeah
Spoiler: sdmi spoilers oh yeah exactly, like... i think what saved the ending for me was the way that the kids were shown to be happy for their loved ones being happy, and all, but also feeling lost and confused about how they don't belong in this new world, and trying to find meaning in it by leaving their old lives--real and fake--behind and setting out to explore what else is out there for them. the whole thing with the cursed town struck me as a metaphor for dysfunction and abuse and toxicity so deep and intrinsic and ingrained to a family, to a friendship, to a community that it destroys the people--especially kids and teenagers--who try to fix it by Sheer Power of Being Good By Themselves, so the ending really resonated with me: maybe a situation that meant a lot to you couldn't be saved, maybe the act of saving it changed it so much you don't belong there anymore, and maybe you're confused about what to feel, but there's more life to live out there than the one that did its best to destroy you, so go live it, your life ain't over yet. /has a lot of feels i think if they'd tried to have the main characters be, like, confused and then go 'lol whatever' and settle down happily i would have pissed a fit, but that said i can still see how the ending would be pretty damn unsatisfying as is XD ...should we make an sdmi thread? i have so many words about this show oh my gosh (ALSO EEEEE THANK)
