assorted sitara thoughts:

she's the oldest of the group, sans ray, which means that she might cut back on her behavior or intervene with the others without really thinking about it because she expects to be the one primarily responsible for all of them (and she's subconciously internalized that level of extra experience as another reason to look out for them)

she's probably got the broadest range of experience-- multiple colleges, multiple tech companies she's casually tossed her gaze on, living in the artist commune, moving onto dedsec and prioritizing justice over comfort... and it's not like she self-flagellates and symbolically deprives herself either, she's pretty open about stealing and using money from people she thinks deserve it, but she's maintained that anger over injustice and the grassroots ability to address it

and all things considered, the rest of the dedsec crew (again, sans ray) is pretty much in the prime of their party period. josh is young, and wrench and marcus are just coming out of that age period where they would have reasonably been expected to be getting FUCKED UP and scraping through classes vs changing the world. horatio's age isn't given, but I think he's probably a year or two older than marcus-- maybe even sitara's age? but like, even though they're young, they aren't kids, sitara's getting close to thirty

I wonder how many other dedsec members (or just contacts) sitara has because she's been kicking around the bay area for years and just... being herself. she seems to know fucking EVERYONE, and I wanna say it's in part because she knows (god does she know, she's a graphic designer) just how important networking is, but I wonder how much of that is also her trying to find every viewpoint to look through? she came from a position of privilege and said 'fuck that', so maybe she's always just... trying to see the other way of looking at things. trying to figure out where the smoke and mirrors are. trying to see who's pulling the strings.

damn, but she'd make a GREAT fucking politician

 

I love the hell out of the dirty jokes re: battery operated toys. I suspect sitara has a collection.

 

Thoughts: Josh seems perfectly ok with the rest of dedsec touching him. Either he is not bothered by touch or, the gang are in the category of people allowed because to know how.
I kind of prefer the second idea. Imagine Wrench getting firm > Light touch thing explained, decides to just apply it in general. Since it fits with the general semi violent wrench affection.

 

Yeah I like to think that Josh probably has a way to signal when he's not okay with touch? If you noticed, they try not to grab him when he's distressed and specifically invite comfort touches vs forcing them.

I bet they're all pretty Trusted People and run interference on everyone else.

 

(slightly related: the Saddest Fistbump in the first !nvite mission makes me d'aww because LOOK AT THE WAY THEY REASSURE HIM AND TRY TO MAKE HIM FEEL BETTER)

 

Also slightly related, if anyone has good videos or wants to stream any side missions, the LP er didn´t do any so.

 

I know Moony wants to do a twitch stream with it once he gets him comp up and running again. He'd probably be down for doing the sidequests on his replay!

 

Another thing, are the cars in that game hard to drive, or is driving like a maniac supposed to be part of the fun?

 

The cars were hard for me to drive in 1. A bit easier in 2 but driving like a maniac is also fun. I mostly steal bikes because more mobile and I can weave in and out of traffic like the impatient bitch that I am.
