Swelter Skelter is a delight of a scene and it's an absolute blast going through and talking to a bunch of the NPCs as well as the Dedsec crew.

 

Talking to everyone in the hackerspace after Swelter Skelter: Markus NOPEing out over Wrench's rash, Josh taking an interest in cultivating mushrooms. I'm always a little disappointed at how little Horatio has to say.

Also Ray making making angry sounds at Defalt.

Alright but realtalk: I am really glad that when Marcus asks about 10 Donuts girl right before Wrench gets grabbed, Wrench says that it isn't working out. Not just because my gay little heart holds a handle for the two of them (or because I like to think Wrench is like Neal from Protector of the Small in that he wants to be in love more than he wants to person to reciprocate) but because aspects of the environment design in his garage and the Hackerspace are like really fucking creepy when you think about them.

Like, okay. Pictures of 10 Donuts girl in his space on... glossy poster paper. That's a little weird, but fine, if he asked her it would be okay-- but I really don't feel like he asked her, in part because it looks like a candid shot. I know that there's reasons for not tweaking the environment to reflect in-game time, but because of that, he's got this poster of her face in his spaces for days, possibly weeks or months, before he ever works up the courage to talk to her (with Marcus basically shoving him into it!)

That's... that's creepy. That's borderline stalking. It probably wasn't intended to come off that way, other than implying that he's holding a torch for her well before the mission itself, but hoo boy does it ever. And I'm really glad that he straight up says that it wasn't going to work out-- in part because it helps sell the issues with self-loathing before we get to that part of the mission, but also because I think any relationship with that level of imbalance was going to fail. Sticking someone on a pedestal isn't a good way to start a date.

 

Incidentally, if anyone's playing on the PS4 and gets the Human Conditions DLC, would you be willing to put stuff about it under spoilers? PC and Xbone don't get it until March, which is UNFORTUNATE because that's also when Andromeda comes out and I have NO IDEA how soon I'll be able to play it.
