The prompt was "100 words of accidentally buying someone lingerie". Spoiler While many aspects of XXIst century civilization were aggravating, overwhelming, and painful, there were also conveniences of the era that could not be denied, and online shopping was one of them. Given the exact measurements of his partner and his companions in flesh, Sherlock could procure clothes for them from the comfort of his own home, with no need to interact with any human beings who might have prying questions. He could, most efficiently, replace Watson's woolen sweater (a necessary sacrifice to a complex alibi experiment) and acquire a variety of lingerie for his future company to wear, within the span of an hour. When the packages arrived, it was only a matter of opening them, checking the contents for tampering, resealing them and then handing one to Athena and leaving the other on Watson's bed. This last step was, unknowingly, where he made the fatal mistake. Some hours later, he was in the middle of some research when his phone chimed, and he opened a message from Athena containing a photo of her lounging seductively, dressed in nothing but a black-and-cream woolen sweater. His brain took what felt like an inordinately long time to put the facts together. He jumped out of his seat when he heard the key scraping in the lock. Focusing all his skills of burglary and subterfuge, he leapt up the stairs, dashed into Watson's room, seized the plastic-wrapped package back from her bed, and exited back out onto the landing. He could hear the door opening, and there was only one avenue left: the television room. "Sherlock? You up here?" Watson opened the door to find him sitting in the chair (a bit uncomfortably due to the bundle tucked behind the small of his back), the remote held in his hand. "I didn't expect you back so soon, Watson. I was watching pornography." The lie did not fool her, but her sigh told that she did not feel like pursuing the topic.
Spoiler: Season 4 Fiona! Such a great character! Her courting Sherlock is awkward and adorable and feels surprisingly real for a TV show.
Season 4, Episode 17, Sherlock calling on Everyone to "help" with Watson's shelter clothes drive. On one hand, well played, on the other, this isn't exactly helping with the humiliation vengeance spiral. Edit: This is the "real-life superhero who stole the identity of a comic book character got shot" episode! It is just full of great moments, the writing is so on point.
Got a bit distracted by other stuff, but watching into Season 5 now. The ongoing Shinwell story is sort of interesting, but mostly for that moment when Watson mentions he threatened her and Sherlock just does this double-take like "threaten WATSON?!?! unacceptable, must prevent"
