"Thanks Melo!" Rita carefully covered her own gem with a fake round bit of jade that matched her skin fairly well. Then she played around with her shape shifting slightly to change her hair to a different style and changed her outfit to something properly less pearl-like. She scrunched her face slightly as she tried and failed to summon her trident with her gem covered by the false one and debated panting over it instead just in case the weapon was needed before realizing the pant would have the exact same effect. She stood dumbfounded for a moment before realizing there was an easy solution, putting on a shirt that covered her Pearl and attaching the fake jade to her hand instead. "Alright then." She muttered to herself giving a quick one over to make sure everything was in place
Lavender should probably also start dressing up. She doesn't want to let go of Rose's hand though. "Which kind of g-gem s-should I try to disguise myself as a-a-anyway? I can h-hardly pass for an Amethyst..." she trails off, frowning.
Melo thinks for a bit, looking at the pile of costumes. Who should I be today... She eventually decides to go with something that looks absolutely nothing like her, so that even if they get revealed as rebels, they will be looking for a gem that doesnt look anything like her. Spectrolite. She puts on different leggings, a pair of knee high boots, a short green dress with poofy sleeves, and a yellow belt around her waist. she makes sure to pick poofy sleeves long enough to cover her gem. THen she picks out a wig cap and wig from the pile, and puts them on. The easy part over, she starts painting her arms and face and collarbone area, things not covered by the clothing. Satisfied with the paint job, she sticks a fake spectrolite onto her chest, and goes to show the people out in the main room of the ship. "Hey can you recognize me?" Spoiler: (OOC) her disguise
"Maybe a Tanzanite," Spinel says to Lavender's question as she takes the assorted pieces of tech and stows the hard drive for now. The communicators get clipped to her belt, for the time being. "They tend to be on the small side, and they're usually accessory diplomats to Saphires and the like." She nods at Melo with a small smile. "Looks good. Though you probably don't need the disguise as much as the rest of us."
"I thought I should go all the way just in case things dont go as smooth as we might like. Then at least they'll be looking for a gem that doesn't look like me."
Lavender was busy putting on a high-necked cape with a lovely gradient from blue to red. "Are w-we going? A-and where t-to first?" she asked, trying not to sound anxious. The pursuit by homeworld would probably be pretty stressful, but she had no idea how to help besides getting ready to infiltrate.
Gray's voice comes over the intercom, calm and level but with a tinge of annoyance. "I am in the process of getting the ship ready for evasive maneuvers, yes, but not everyone is on board yet - and I feel I should remind you how much fun the previous set of evasive maneuvers were, when I had no time to warn you all to strap into your seats."
Lavender ducked her head sheepishly. "A-aye-aye, Gray!" she called out and hurried back to her seat, strapping in and making encouraging gestures at the others to do the same.
At Gray's admonition, Rose nodded and followed Lavender back to the seat she'd taken next to the other Pearl, strapping herself in and settling into the seat. "Ready whenever!" she said cheerfully.
"L-let's j-just hope we can pull our plan off w-without problems..." Lavender mumbled, staring at her knees. She should probably go back to dressing up, but some how her hands were shaking too badly to glue the Tazanite gem onto her wrist.
Rose hesitated, then offered, "Lav--I mean, Lavender--do you...want some help with that? The Tanzanite gem, I mean, I could glue it on for you?"
Lavender looked up, smiling sheepishly. "U-uh y-yes, please! Haha, I-i'm such a clumsy pebble sometimes." she laughed, and handed Rose the gem and the glue. "D-do you need help with anything?" she asked. She wanted to help Rose, who brought a smile to her face so often and was so strong and beautiful. Somehow it never felt like she was doing enough for her new friends.
"Oh, um..." Rose hesitated, thinking over Lavender's offer as she frowned in concentration, carefully gluing on the gem. "There! You're set, I think. And...no, I don't think I need any help, but if I do I'll be sure to ask!!" Rose hadn't really had time to do much besides glue on a fake Morganite stone, but hopefully she could enhance her disguise a bit either before or once they got to their first destination. "But don't worry about it too much--I'm happy to be able to help you," she added to Lavender, knowing the other Pearl probably felt like she wasn't doing enough. Heck, Rose felt that way herself, if only because they'd done so much for her--Lavender had literally saved her from death, after all.
"A-ah, alright. And I'm almost set, yes!" Lavender replies and picks up a dark blue wavy wig, slightly longer than her own hair. With a bit of wrestling she gets the curly mess on and grins at Rose. "H-how do I look? A-amethyst would recognize my hair from miles away, s-since she picked it out, s-so I thought I should change it." she tries to tuck the strand that usually falls over her hair back but doesn't catch anything, since this wig had differently cut bangs. She blushes, slightly embarrassed. She wouldn't ahve thought that that little habit was so ingrained in her...!
Carnelian looked up from her own efforts at changing her clothes and smiled at Lavender's new hair. "You'll get used to it. Don't know if we will, though. I'm still probably less recognizable, should I come with you?"
"Th-that would be helpful probably!" Lavender breathes. She is getting excited and anxious. Somehow... She's almost thinking it might be fun to infiltrate. How improper! How... exhilarating.
"Okay. I'm all dressed, it's really weird having this much hair around my face.." Melo fidgets a bit, and looks around the room for a place to sit. "Um. It seems we're out of seats, I'll could round up some scarves for people to tie to something?"
"O-oh" Lavender looks around, awkwardly. "I-i should have asked before sitting d-down I didn't realize..." She looks at Melo with a blush and a smile. "W-well we could share seats. I-i guess. T-there's space on my lap?" Amethyst would sometimes have her sit on her lap. She'd sometimes claim it was because there weren't enough spaces left for a lowly Pearl like her, and wasn't she nice to let her sit like this instead of standing? Or poofing her liek the whimp she was? But this was different, Lavender told herself. She was just offering. It wasn't... She wouldn't make anyone sit like that.
"Oh! Okay.." Melo smiles sheepishly and scurries over to Lavender, and sits down gently in her lap. She tries to keep the wig from getting smooshed into Lav's face whhile she's moving, but once she's sat down she is reminded that she's almost a head shorter than Lav, so she fits nicely below her chin. "Is this okay? I hope I didn't get hair in your face.."
Lavender grins and rests her chin on top of the other Pearl's head. "Comfy!" she says. "I-is it okay if I put my arms around your waist? F-for safety." Lavender offers, trying not to blush harder.
