Recent post about Gonff, Prince of Mousethieves, by wuddshipp on Tumblr which made me happy:

Is under the impression that Martin is the one that’s going to save the day. This good beautiful boy… risked his own life to keep children fed, is absolutely fearless and selfless, and was probably a constant source of light in a truly dark time. As if that’s not brave. AS IF GIVING HOPE IS THE MOST BADASS WAY OF FIGHTING BACK THAT THERE IS.

You have Columbine who just lost her home and however many of her own people- faced absolute tragedy. And she meets this sweet mouse who keeps putting a smile on her face and on the faces of her brothers and sisters of Loamhedge. And she cherishes him immediately.

And then he meets Martin the McFreaking Warrior who came from Marshank where a troupe of actors and singers risked everything to perform in front of warlords and corsairs and save all the slaves there and then joined in fighting back. Rose who literally died fighting back despite not being a fighter.
And at this point, Martin has to know that his northern tribe was wrong about the difference between a fighter and warrior. You can have a warrior’s heart and not be able to fight physically. And he’s gotta look at this mouse and immediately see a kindred spirit- an equal.

Just- “I’ve known this mouse for 15 minutes but if anything happens I will kill everyone in this castle and then myself”
