are there any homestuck fics that have all the Cool Homestuck Lore but without the endless meandering? I've made it to the beginning of act5 act2, and i really like the worldbuilding, but i'm just never going to read the entire thing.

If you mean worldbuilding about Alternia, the Boat Trolls RP is really good. I think you can find links to the various masterposts in the boat trolls rp subforum?

 

I'm here to rec Humanoids Of Beach City. REALLY good SU fic, based on Humans Of New York (it's basically a series of interviews, mostly with the townies), with chapters that range from funny to tragic to heartwarming. (Don't let the huge chapter count scare you off--the interviews vary in length, but most are fairly short.)

 

A Star to Steer By by Dogmatix and Norcumi [EDIT: Complete 20/20 chapters]
A Starwars/Stargate SG-1 crossover: Jack O'Neill comes across Obi-Wan Kenobi and, quite reasonably, mistakes him for a goa'uld.
Lots of really cool worldbuilding in terms of how the Republic and the Grand Army differ from having the Jedi (and the Sith) all be (the same species as the) goa'uld. The Supplements have some particularly great background material in them.

 

Points on a Circle by AughtPunk (Overwatch, complete)
The Overwatch fic I always come back to. Primary McHanzo, secondary Gencyatta, some other background ships. Dragon shenanigans, nonlinear narrative, serious reread value.

DCTV zombie apocalypse, featuring very little in the way of zombies, successful anti-zombie city protection measures on the part of Leonard Snart, and the birth of a religion centered around Mick Rory, who is very bemused.

Absolutely hilarious.

 

idk if she's been recced here before, but anonymousalchemist writes absolutely the best TAZ crack-taken-seriously fic. Her latest work is a fic where Keats is a lich living in Kravitz's suit, a spiritual companion to her earlier series where Barry is a lich living in Sildar Hallwinter's bluejeans. It's absolutely amazing with perfect Kravitz characterization and everyone should read it right now immediately.

 

Can anyone rec me any Night Vale fic in which Cecil meets Carlos’s family, or Carlos’s family visit him in night vale? Even if it’s not the main focus of the fic. I have a very specific crave.

Or just night vale fic in general, actually, I have no idea what good stuff has been published since I wandered out of the fandom a few years ago

Steven Universe - Rose/Pearl, written in response to a Single Pale Rose, made me wince but in a good way.

 

Does anyone have any good Durarara!! fic? I'm rewatching the first season over in prep to go into the second, and I am dying for some well written pitch-as-night Shizaya, and some cute domestic shinra/celery would be good too. I'm down for some main trio and other character stuff, just no x2 spoilers plz :3

Anybody like Doctor Who?
My sister took her first baby steps into the wide world of fanfiction, she's an experienced writer but her fic has gotten lost in the sea of Doctor Who fanfiction on AO3. I'd really like to encourage her, but they are both too long for my attention span and she could use some comments. The major ship is Missy/The Doctor, but they'll probably be a hefty amount of Plot Stuff rather then hanky panky.

does anyone have any homestuck fic recs? i’m not really looking for Fandom Classics—i’ve read them all. fics you like that are newer, or maybe don’t have as many kudos as you think they should?

i like dave, karkat, jade, aradia, and rose best as characters, shipfic or gen is fine, any rating is fine! i’m partial to aus with lots of worldbuilding but that’s of course just a suggestion and i’ll take p much anything!
