@cantankerousAquarius It wasn't a dick move I just didn't have the spoons to go sorting through it. Otherwise it was very organized.

Delphi's quirk is three iii's, like her symbol, AND ALL CAPS. She did do a thing with stars though... space pictures from helming. I liked doing those paintings but WOW that took a lot out of me.

alright fuck it. I've been dancing around posting here, like, since the thread started.

here's my bunch. timelines easily futzable. originally conceived in Boat Trolls-verse but not really locked in there for any reason.


Ellehi Maruca

at 11 sweeps: Ellehi works in the birthing caverns. She is a Signless devotee, as she considers the hemocaste system to be complete and utter nonsense - she's seen wigglers of every colour, they're all the same, they all die the same, what does it matter? She only came to this conclusion after Ascension, though, and she now works in secret to hide particularly strong psionic wigglers as well as mutants. She has slowly begun to build an 'underground railroad' for these wigglers in conjunction with the Signless network. It's hard work, and she can't save as many as she would like, but she tries. She has a kismesis and a flush crush; her moirail was recently culled by the legislacerators as his treason was discovered. She is extremely broken up about this and hasn't yet refilled her pale quadrant.


Sevrid Makami

They were friends before they could talk, and were excellent moirails for each other. They served as a special-ops team in the 17th Mountain before Ellehi was transferred to Maemei's personal guard. Sevrid was primarily responsible for the incident that led Ellehi to adopt the Signless philosophy. Sevrid was caught smuggling wigglers and was culled half a sweep ago.


Tsulan Melele

She has spent her life hidden away in the Signless community, using her abilities to help wherever she can.


Maemei Laojin

at 10 sweeps: Maemei has been Ellehi's kismesis since Ellehi served under Maemei in Reenactment Society battles - Maemei, the royal patron of the Seventeenth Mountain Brigade, took a liking to the jade-blood who was assigned as her bodyguard at the yearly ball. Ellehi, a straight-laced no-nonsense corporal, immediately disliked the care-free, haughty Maemei, and Maemei took full advantage of Ellehi's stiff upper lip as she proceeded to drive her completely mad through the course of the party.
She works a cushy desk job in the breeding and genetics department in a large city on Alternia. She knows about Ellehi's Sufferist leanings, and does not share them; she also knows about Ellehi's attempts to hide mutant and psionic wrigglers. Maemei has not turned Ellehi in for treason, however, due to an incident soon after Ellehi's Ascension - and knowing that this incident could easily implicate her in treason as well, she intends to keep quiet for the foreseeable future.


Rahine Kuroji

at 10 sweeps: Rahine is an utter fop. He is really rather stupid and clueless. However, he learned his schoolfeeds well, and if there's one thing he can do, it's command a spaceship. Because really, it's not that hard, you barely have to do anything and he likes ordering people around. He spends most of his days trolling Maemei and slacking off at officer school. He goes shopping a lot, has a spiffing hive and an incredible art and antiques collection, and his wardrobe itself is dressed to the nines. He expects to have a ship within the next few sweeps, but is completely content to leave it to the will of the Empire. He doesn't think much of the whole Venmar/Tresan Ancestor thing - not the way Maemei does - but fuck if he cares, Maemei's fantastic in bed, if a little cold sometimes, and it is not hard to find another troll to pail with if Maemei's got a headache.
Maemei met Rahine at the violet-blood Ascension Ball. Upon discovering his last name, she immediately declared herself his soulmate due to their ancestors' famed story. She secretly thinks very little of him - she herself is quite smart, if prone to flights of fancy and romanticism - but he's excellent in bed, easily manipulated, and has incredible connections. Both Maemei and Rahine enjoy casual pailing outside their matespritship; Rahine thinks Maemei doesn't know about it, but Maemei definitely knows and couldn't care less.


Cyzsos Sessat

at 9 sweeps: Cyzsos desperately wants to be a helmsman. He is and always has been physically weak, his right ankle having broken in a fall as a wriggler and never having healed properly, which stunted the growth of his right leg. His mind is sharp as a tack, though, and he loves schoolfeeds though he'd never admit it. He's sullen and bitter, and perpetually bitchy. He grew up in a desert; he is abnormally tall for his age and so thin as to be mistaken for emaciated. He is very good with mechanical devices, having built himself a number of things to help him walk and balance (and hide his condition from the culling drones) over the years. He is fiercely independent. He has no quadrants and intends to keep it that way. He cannot WAIT to get rid of his limbs and has been studying helming since he could read.

Audahi forsook her breeding duties at her Ascension and turned her extended clade into one of the fiercest roaming battlegroups Alternia had ever seen. Particularly skilled at infiltration and assassination, Audahi culled several dozen of the highest violet royals and hundreds of indigo and blue-blood officers and administrators. She gained her title of Silencer for obvious reasons, but her title of Asphodel (typically only found in banned literature) was given to her for her habit of leaving asphodel flowers in the victim's hair. It is still unknown how she managed to evade the Imperial Army for so long, but it is theorized that she was in deep with both the Signless and the clowns; it is notable that only the most bloodthirsty chucklebrothers were killed by her hand, and even then only a handful.
She was caught and brought to trial after a particularly daring attempt on the heiress' life. She was ordered executed by hoofbeast, but the punishment never took place. There are innumerable conspiracy theories about how she may or may not have met her end.

Venmar and Tresan are basically Troll Tristan and Troll Isolde, with a bit of a Troll Don Juan twist. Venmar was a well-known ladies man, dashing and self-effacing but completely full of himself. He made allll the ladies swoon. Tresan, on the other hand, was the most beautiful troll princess to be found for sweeps and sweeps and sweeps. Jealous of her beauty, the Empress assigned her concupiscent duties with a troll of lower caste (which caste, precisely, depends on which version of the story you hear). Venmar could not stand to have this magnificent specimen of troll beauty sullied so, and he swooped into Tresan's hive the night before she was to meet her new matesprit, and the two eloped into the Alternian forests. Livid, the Empress hunted them down and, of course, made an example of them both: she speared the two lovers with her trident, one on either end, and left them to die. Some versions of the story say that Venmar and Tresan pulled themselves along the trident and died in each other's arms.

This makes sense for my peeps too, if we stick a mountain somewhere around the forest. Then Rahine and Maemei are in the city, Sevrid and Ellehi are forest-mountainy folk, Tsulan is Hidden Somewhere Else, and Cyzsos is off in the desert hiding from everyone because he's a bitchy li'l baby.

I have an on-planet Sufferist too! They should hang out.

 

I'll second Czysos as being a good character to toss at Jo or Naz (Or both! They make a good team.) Nothing would be more frustrating for the poor guy to finally get to his dream of becoming a ship and getting stuck with a pair of engineers who insist on treating him like a person, I bet.

I feel like Cyzsos would mostly be confused if he got a ship where he's treated like shit. He's insecure and bitchy, and he wants to be a helm, but I'm not sure he's really grasped the extent to which some helmstrolls are no longer considered trolls. That being said, he'd also be confused as fuck by being treated nicely, and he would be very suspicious.

 

Ahh. Well, with his eagerness, that does make sense! Still plenty of potential there, I think. I could see them as a trio going up against asshole COs who try to insist on bad practices. Or even Helmsman liberators who can't grasp the idea of him wanting to stay right where he is, tyvm! (Especially after a full peripheral amputation, geez!)

 

Yeah. Nazuma being the eager mad scientist that he is, (especially when he's a helm engineer), would want to try to avoid amputation(mutilation) as much as possible.

 

@Kaylotta i'd love 2 draw ur trolls! any more in the way of physical descriptions than what you've got up, or d'you want me to just go w/ whatever and tweak them for u if need be?

Ellehi: solidly built, square shoulders and hips. She looks strong but isn't super buff. Rounded nose, squarish jaw. Quite tall. Not much in the rumblespheres department. Definitely has resting bitch face.

Maemei: short with a good amount of chub, very curvy, big hips and behind, lots of boob. She swims a lot, though, so she's pretty compact. Round face, double chin, button nose.

Sevrid: shorter than Maemei, very square-shaped. Well-defined muscles - he spends lots of time in the forest running, climbing trees, hunting. Flat face, freckles, round nose.

Tsulan: taller side of average, oval face, long thin nose. Fairly slim, doesn't have a lot of muscle, long fingers, long legs. Hips and bust don't stick out much...she's basically a tall thin rectangle.

Cyzsos: oh my glob get this guy a cheeseburger. He's ridiculously tall and has precisely negative five meat on his bones. He has a hunch in his shoulders. Pointiest chin ever, nose too. Arms and legs are spindly, and the right leg is about four inches shorter than the left. Probably has hella scoliosis. Usually wears an extension device of his own making on his right leg when he has to go out, hiding it under long pants. Long spindly fingers, too. Gives Ellehi a run for her money in the resting bitch face dept.

Rahine: Average height, average build, average face. He literally has no distinguishing features and he HATES it. Except his fins.


I posted a long while back about Maemei and Rahine's fins. I'll see if I can find what I said... Also I'm just blurbing, feel free to use whatever in that might be helpful. Or ask questions and I'll blurble more.
