I FINISHED the first spin of my Starburst fiber! Next step is to attempt chain plying, which should preserve the color order. I have never chain plied before, so fingers crossed for this one, boys. Then I decided that while I'm on a roll, I might at well finish another first time yarn project and I FINALLY dyed that Merino that I've had sitting around for more than a year. The purple turned out crazy vibrant and next time I'm only going to use one teaspoon instead of two. It's so intense my phone camera has a hard time picking it up. I had to use three teaspoons of the blue just to try and get the color deep enough to balance out. I think it turned out wonderful anyway, especially considering I know next to nothing about this dye except that ti already has he acid in it.
I'm trying to chart out a pattern and I can't for the life of me decide what I like better re: the decreases OPTION ONE: more p2t heavy, preserves the cabling more OPTION TWO: tons of decreases spaced out by non decrease rows, preserves the general structure/shape more
Working on a new cross stitch pattern! Spoiler: Taako's good out here. I have to figure out at least the hat, maybe other accessories. Chopping knife? Onions?
am trying to make witch hats for everyone, but the brim experiment continues to fail. does anyone have tips for that?
@Sethrial MacCoill that's got 2x Very Thing garden wire in the brim, so I'm gonna try it with a bigger one people suggest starching a lot, does it work okay on acrylic?
I mean strach doesn't actually do anything chemical to the fabric, just soaks it in a stiffening substance (starch) that when dry will provide structural support, so the material shouldn't matter
Baby blanket! I didn't change colors in the way ordained by the pattern, I did my own thang with two variegated yarns that share a partial palette and then did the basic ripple structure around the edges. It was fun! Nice and basic and now I'm going to find another mandala that doesn't involve so much repeating the same rows for the whole thing XD Spoiler: large

New month, new fiber club video! I was apparently very tired and spergy when I filmed this month, so I hope it comes off cute and not, like, really weird.
My newest commission brought in enough money that I could FINALLY ORDER A BLENDING BOARD! I'm, like, crying-happy about this
