FTR, I highly recommend doing the crystal tower raid set at least once before part 2 of 3.5 comes out (is that the same thing as 3.55? It's so hard to tell), since part 2 will involve a character who shows up in a fairly significant way in Crystal Tower (the first raid is called Labyrinth of the Ancients).
there's also an altered scene if you do the other raid, Coils of Bahamut, to completion before you get to 3.4, but it's Fucking Coils and no one can blame you for not doing that, because Fucking Coils, for Real. (tldr; the two 50 raid series are balanced completely opposite. CT is the 24 man and is run-in-your-sleep easy now; Coils is the 8 man and makes full teams of unsynced level 60s cry.)
@Meagen Image yo, grats! There's no shame in taking your time, it took me a good few months to get to 50, let alone finish MSQ.
Lol yeah, I didn't bother with coils myself. Not worth it, though I may eventually think about it... ugh. Why can't it be easy mode like all the early normal Alexander raids are ;3;
Coils aren't too bad if you have at least a few people who know what they're doing. 5 is cheesable, 9 is the real killer. Enough DPS and 13 is a joke.
also offer still stands if people want help running p much any old content, all I'm really doing at this point is weekly HW 24 mans for the gear upgrades, halfheartedly levelling my last 4 classes to 50, and dicking around on alts. Need a break from levelling so much crafting.
Yeah, 5 is cheesable, we just did that last weekend. schedule conflicts meant we couldn't do 9 today though. If I get too far along I may screech for help running T9, @Enzel, I really want those modified scenes...
I kick myself because I didn't know the spot you're supposed to stand for 5 to make divebombs less awful until I ran it for WT once and saw people do it. We had wiped so many times on our own. So many. AND THEN.
It's more that I started playing just two months ago. Well, my FC is reasonably raid-happy, so I will never want for teammates. Just gotta say "who here likes newbie bonuses?".
Spoiler Can those people who have seen the (full?) Stormblood trailer let me know if Derplander is the same guy at the end? Apparently a bunch of people are claiming yeah, but I can't really see it. Like... they seem to have the same scar, which suggests they are... but that face isn't derplander's, I'm sure of it. Shit's weird. And if they are the same, how on fucking earth did he grow his hair out so quickly? Spoiler: Comparison pics vs
@Hobo I keep going back and forth on it. They look really similar to me but I'm also not amazing with faces... Edit: SE can we for once have a hairstyle that covers the LEFT eye instead of the right one? Please???
@KathyGaele man fishing in this game is so chill and I find myself really appreciating the scenery more while I do it. :3
So... I tried combining the moon map with the more recent (labelled) world map from Stormblood. It's... not perfect (also ugly). The moon map shows Ilsabard directly to the east of Eorzea, and it actually ends up covering part of Thavnair on the new map... and there's a barely visible island on the bottom right of the map that I'm not sure about. It could be Thavnair (in which case it's way out of position), or it could be something entirely new. Anyway, here's the thing if anyone's interested in this sort of bullshit. I had to delete Ilsabard because it made no sense otherwise. So yeah, not great but it at least gives a general placement of all the known continents/important islands, I think. Spoiler: big ass picture
Damn that map is massive. Kind of impressed that people have been able to get it that big with that sort of quality. Looks like they mistranslated Koshu as Roshu, though. Seems to be a common mistake.
I think the scale of the moon texture one was shrunk a lot, because if that's the New World to the left it should be much further away, considering it was so difficult to sail there for so long...
Yeah I agree. Same sorta deal with Meracydia, like... if it was that close, it would probably be considered part of Eorzea the same as Vylbrand since it's not that much further away.
