argh i didn't get notifs for this thread for a while waii This reminds me i really gotta get on my ARR Beast tribe quests. Spoiler: Adventures in Wondrous Tales *joins Titan EX group, leader goes "NEED MOAR DRG" so I switch as a joke and he queues us* Only one person died :p Then we did Odin (the trial) and his horse...did not load in at all, so he just sort of hovered awkwardly the whole time which was HILARIOUS Spoiler: @ the 3.3 thing I always figured it was more Symbolic than anything? Actually...my headcanon is that your Anima weapon's soul is one of them, depending on whether or not you choose it's voice sounds "male" or "female", but idk how "canon" that is. (like were they actually trying to imply it with plausible deniability or not.) *slams fist down on table* I'M A PALADIN, I HAVE TWO WEAPONS, I CAN HAVE BOTH OF THEM
@Enzel that odin thing seems like it would happen to me oh my god that's exactly the kind of shit my lag pulls
most of the ARR ex primals are a joke unsynced. ive done them with as few as 4 people and it wasnt hard. we farmed like that. I would say Levi EX is the hardest, especially if you have lag.
People tend to do them with p much any party setup because they're that easy now. But usually it's tank/healer/6 dps. Or less. Garuda and Shiva are just burns, Titan you can still fall off but it goes fast, the other 3 you do need to be careful not to use dots and switch instantly to the adds when they appear or you'll wipe from phase pushing, but otherwise easy. As Aki said, Levi is annoying because you have the whole no railings thing plus having to hold dps at certain points and literally sit there and wait for 10-20 secs for the phase changes.
Well, that was a whole lot of things that happened. Spoiler: ARR 2.X patches and final cutscenes leading up to HW I'm gonna miss the Sultana, she was the most adorable monarch ever. I was framed I tell ya! I've only ever committed regicide in a fair, stand-up fight! And I even let the other guy bring his own background music! Tenmyouji Adderall why did you taunt Rhaubahn so much. What were you trying to accomplish. Awww, poor Alphinaud. I want to pet his little head and tell him it'll be okay. We've all had our bad days. I was just accused of poisoning someone and had most of my friends commit Heroic Sacrifices to help me escape, and do *you* see me having a crisis of faith? Hauchefrant you are, and will always be, my dude. Lord Dude. Thank you for the help, and the pep talk for Alphinaud, and for whatever's in those mugs. Well, there we are: the Scions are down to just the cute but useless half-pint, and Tataru. But I can work with this! I'm the Main Character, after all.
A friend linked me this and i had to share it here too bc it made my ribs hurt from laughing Minor Coil spoilers and a teeny bit of inappropriate humor
Can confirm that practically the entire SMN video is what I hear over Discord from Aki all the time, esp while tanking. "Can you pull quickly? Dreadwyrm--" ...I actually do the perching thing when healing.
...made the mistake of reading the YT comments Do people really get offended when Paladins use Clemency/SS/Protect? TBF I do get annoyed when they use Protect at the beginning of a dungeon because it's like saying "meh, healer wasn't fast enough" but i tested it and Protect gives the same dmg mitigation regardless of the caster's stats, so a PLD'S Protect is the same as a Healer's. It's proportional to the recipient's Defense, I think. So now if someone goes down mid-fight and I'm tanking, I'll recast it on them so the healers can get to doing other stuff, sometimes I'll throw SS on them to make up for rez weakness. Very useful in Dun Scaith. I also use SS before tank busters (again it's a flat 10% of your HP regardless of who's casting it) and Clemency to trigger Divine Veil if the healer is busy or doesn't notice I've hit it, because I really don't want to make an annoying macro for it. I'll also heal party members if things are going to shit.
When I was raiding, back when First Coil was progression content, I would absolutely throw SS while the other tank had the boss. Especially on the defense orb boss. It's not always necessary but it can be a huge help with tankbusters.
I have gotten to level 30 Gladiator with a couple of spins on the levelling roulette! My friends tell me I'm not doing too bad at the Tanky thing. Time to toss rocks at things until I can learn to be a Paladin.
Something i just discovered while dicking around: Spoiler: minor spoilers for ARR He'll occasionally breathe fire when sitting on your shoulder. its ADORABLE. Sadly there doesn't seem to be a way to induce this since he doesn't respond to emotes so I had to sit around for almost a full Eorzean day trying to get this screenshot...
Progress update: Bard 52, Artemis Atma achieved, Trials of the Braves 0/9, Monk 51, Dragoon 40, Paladin 32, Machinist unlocked. MSQ instance "A series of unfortunate events" done, Hauchefrant remains the broest of bros. Emmentaler's plot dealt with, moving on to Aortial.
Almost 50 in all crafting/gathering and ow my hand but also. I made this as soon as humanly possible because I thought Imry would look cute in it and I WAS RIGHT Someday...I will obtain the dyeable version...someday...
Damn that is stylish and relevant to my interests. Do you have a list of what's what with that? Also damn, I wish I had your fortitude with crafting. I've just been slowly edging my way there by doing GC turn ins. I'm finding my max level gathering/crafting classes are the most frustrating to use because my gear is trash ;3;
The top is Wool Suspenders, it's a lvl 45 or so Weaver craft. Dyeable version is the most recent Specialist Weaver craft I thiiink? So it's absurdly expensive, but this version shouldn't be too bad. (i can make it for ppl on Adamantoise too.) Spoiler: the other gear Gloves: Expeditioner's Gloves Pants: Ramie Trousers of Gathering (lvl 55, Dark Brown dye) Boots: Falconer's Boots (Kobold Brown dye) Axe is the Baldur Axe from Fractal Continuum/Neverreap. The Heavy Metal Greataxe (i250 craftable) is a palette swap i think, and dyeable Honestly considering switching my tank glamour to this. >.> Levelling everything all at once almost seems easier just because so many crafts cross over, if that makes any sense. Like one class makes the mats for another, etc, and you can share gear. I've got a few text documents dedicated to keeping track of everything, though, and one of my alts to hold all my extra materials so my poor inventory doesn't overflow. Spoiler: babbling about my crafting strat I've been doing crafting in 5 level increments, i.e. each class 5 levels at a time. Trying to HQ all my own gear and buying HQ what I can't. I take a break for a week or so every time i use up all my leve allowances. I'm lucky enough that @Akiv'a is helping me make leve items but i gather all the mats and make the base materials, and that exp alone will sometimes get me 2-3 levels. I try to use only HQ mats if i can. So i gather extra of everything, sell the NQ stuff, use the money for whatever i can't make. Etc. Also, quick synth is handy but also kind of inefficient. If you can, do your best to raise the quality of each craft as much as possible. Even if you don't HQ it, you still get bonus EXP proportional to the Quality when you finish the craft. But most of all: Put on Netflix or something and macro that shit. (the one downside to this is if you have lag problems, macros can misfire. :( ) What i do is figure out the sequence i need to reliably finish a craft (how many Careful Synthesis, how much durability is left over for Touch actions.) Then i write a macro for it, label it for how much Durability it works for, pick something i need a lot of (ingots, lumber, thread) and just watch something or talk to people on discord while it goes. Or wait in DPS queue. (tho that can be a little dangerous...) You'll have to change them as you level and get new moves and your CP changes (remember to cross class stuff) and I tend to only use em for 40 dur things because the 70-80 dur ones require more hands on-approach. (and you don't have to make 5 million of em) I tend to have 2, one for stuff that can be finished in 1 Careful Synth and one for stuff that can be finished in 2. Spoiler: sample macro /ac "Inner Quiet" <wait.2> /ac "Great Strides" <wait.2> /ac "Steady Hand" <wait.2> /ac "Waste Not" <wait.2> /ac "Advanced Touch" <wait.3> /ac "Advanced Touch" <wait.3> /ac "Standard Touch" <wait.3> /ac "Standard Touch" <wait.3> /ac "Careful Synthesis" <wait.3> /ac "Careful Synthesis" ...if you look at that and go "wtf is this arcane nonsense" i'd be happy to explain how it works, haha.
