Got to see end game today thanks to fiance and all I have to say is wow yes, this MMO expansion might actually be the best Final Fantasy game to come along in a long while (and I say that having loved FFXV) Also Alisaie is and continues to be best girl
I finished MSQ yesterday and HOT DAMN. What a beautiful, fantastic expansion. I also did the two post-MSQ dungeons and they were really, really good, and came with LORE!! I'm also proud of myself for doing the entire MSQ on DRK. Tanking has made me nervous for a long time, even thought by the end of SB I was doing more of it and had the three tanks to max level; I almost never did trial roulette on one and never normal raid rou, but this time I did *all* the instances as DRK. (Sure, I OT'd all the trials, but!) I did use Trust for my first runthroughs of the MSQ dungeons though >_> Now to level up all my gatherers and crafters and work on WHM and DNC!
I FUCKIN' LOVED IT It was pretty quiet and simple, but it felt like an excellent coda to the 5.0 MSQ and was pretty much perfect for Iolis. (He always felt a touch guilty about that merchant, even if the dude did kind of earn an asskicking from life for being such an asshole to someone who was helping him for nothing.)
I've just been trucking through with WHM and I'm currently lvl 76. Been taking my time with everything cause I don't want to end it so quickly LOL
I was so torn between taking longer and drawing out the experience, and running through because OMG WHAT'S NEXT - and toward the end I kept nearly spoiling myself by thoughtlessly clicking through spoiler tags. (I did get spoiled on one thing but not the context so it didn't ruin the moment, and the other spoiler was either wrong or I read it wrong, so that ended up being a surprise after all too!) I've still got a ton of sidequests to go through, though, so still lots to do.
hello i just started again for a bit after like 4 YEARS and i have no idea what the hell i'm doing I am... very intimidated to show myself anywhere or really do anything like, to be clear: last time i seriously played was when 50 was level cap
Don’t stress too much about it. 50 is considered low level now, no one expects you to know what you’re doing beyond the basics since jobs change so much on the way to level cap. You’ve got a lot of game to journey through and learn from along the way!
I JUST came across something that you might find useful - a text guide for every dungeon in the game Haven’t been able to give it a look because I’m on mobile rn, but might be good for a refresher?
Also if video guides are more your style Mizzteq (mtqcapture) has fantastic ones for almost every dungeon and trial in the game!
Thanks! Feeling a bit better after just plunging in and doing the msq we were on when we stopped, which was actually 5.5 years ago, lol
What data center are you on, Saro? If it's Aether or Crystal I could run things with you or give you some help if you ever need it.
Pretty sure I'm on Aether! Thanks for the offer :) so far things are going okay and I'm mostly trying to figure my junk out again at the moment and remember how to play basically any kind of online game Husband is having a worse time than me, about 70% of the skills he used before are just gone, nuked from orbit. A bunch of the bard skills have changed but at least the icons are familiar and the basics from what I've read are not too different from what I remember
Oh man, poor guy. XD What job does he play? I'm also on Aether, and I'm also pleased to lend a hand with stuff! If I remember my ffxiv history right, cross-world duty matching wasn't even a thing yet when you last played - now parties and friends lists can be cross-world, and you can have cross-world specific linkshells. And just before ShB world visit became a thing! So doing stuff with other people is easier than ever. :D
DRG - I'm probably exaggerating with the 70%, but his hotbar had a bunch of X-ed out skills when he first logged on and he was mystified until he went on the site and looked at what they'd changed
Some Viera and Hrothgar naming conventions! I kind of love how viera are basically given a free pass via lore to be named whatever the fuck the player wants, even if I think it's also a little... handwavey.
