I still do it, though usually in the form of binge-rewatching shows, because that’s easier on my painfully short attention span.

There are a few specific episodes of things I’ve rewatched over and over, though, if that counts. Namely, I genuinely can’t count how many times I’ve watched Last One Out Of Beach City, but it’s gotta be in the triple digits. That’s not even an exaggeration.

I tend to watch movies i like get on dvd or something somewhere around five times directly back to back? and then inevitably drop it until i feel like watching it again maybe. It's a weird habit I've had since I was little, drove mom nuts.

i have music i listen to over and over, but not videos. i'd say it's probably because videos weren't a thing when i was little, but then, i don't reread books over and over in quick succession either. every few years i'll go through a handful of discworld books again, say, or hal duncan's book of all hours, but only once the details have started to blur in my mind.

but i've had this same 45-song playlist on shuffle since sometime last october. :P

my gremlin brain out of the fucking blue: what if jack skellington was trans and the whole pumpkin king schtick was originally just him gleefully asserting his masculinity in the most commanding way possible to make a new brand/icon for himself.

I absolutely do the music thing too, and to a much greater degree than with videos. Like, I once listened to a song over a thousand times (yes, seriously) in the month after it was released, although that’s extreme even for me.

(Also FUCK YEAH SHUFFLEABLE PLAYLISTS. I have an unthemed playlist of Tasty Jams that I listen to a lot, although that one’s 400+ songs so the context is way different. :P)

omg NASA is sending a flying drone to Titan!!!

i have been mildly obsessed with Titan since i first learned about the Huygens probe, and i have been really hoping for some more exploration of the surface ever since. and this is just so cool! it's going to be able to land, take measurements, then fly to the next site! :O the downside is, of course, that it takes a long time to build probes and a long time to fly to Saturn, so it will launch in 2026 and arrive in 2034. still! a robot that flies around Titan!!! fucking radical!!!!

Don't you always just want to pet the fluffy bees? Too bad the bees wouldn't appreciate it. (Mental note for future fantasy species; bees the size of guinea pigs which can take a petting.)

Probably some bumblebee spp. Usually the stocky, furry bees are bumblebees. Would probably need more info on the general location to try to more definitely/accurately identify it, there are lots of bumblebee species out there that look pretty similar

bumblebees don't really mind petting if they're used to humans. like if the bees in your yard are accustomed to you being out on the porch, you give them a little pebble fountain to drink from, they land on you and you don't hurt them, then sometimes when you bring a finger up to touch them they won't fly away, and you can very gently pet them. :3

honey bees are a bit more wary of Oh Shit Approaching Finger, so it's better to go for a high five. and all the wild non-bumble bees i've tried to touch just bail if they're sitting on my hand and the other hand comes near.

edit: is it weird that i like to touch bugs, and sorta categorize them by friendliness? mostly bees and spiders tbh. jumping spiders are the friendliest, while fishing spiders are the most defensive, and are the only ones i've been bitten by. moths are just dumb as balls, and have no clue what's going on, so you can pet them sometimes if they're just chilling, but i don't think they realize they're interacting with another organism, the whole world is a big question mark as far as they're concerned. never tried to pet a butterfly. beetles are too hard on top to be pettable, so i categorize them by Stompy Feets instead. caterpillars are all pettable, it's just that some of them are Danger Pats. umm... millipedes, fun to poke so they do the spiral thing, not pettable tho. centipedes squick me. mosquitos are Not Cute and also carry diseases so i just squish them. hornets are the Enemy. i think that's my whole science.

I used to pet bumblebees, they're soft. where i used to work had several huge lavender bushes that were absolute bee magnets when they were in bloom, and the bees were more interested in flowers than me. the most they would do is fly to another flower or raise their middle set of legs in warning when i gently touched them.
