Just realized I have never been carded because I have never bought something that requires my being above a specific age, lol. Most of what I get is related to people being surprised at my birthdate, which I have to give a lot (medical transactions, etc.)

Oh yeah that reminds me, every time I gotta go to the doc's people ask if that's my grandma with me when it's my mom. She's not even 50 yet and she grew her early grays out a long time ago but she looks in no other way as old as they think

My mom went gray early too, and during my first trip to Disneyland, when I was six, someone told her that her granddaughter (aka me, her daughter) was cute.

She was 38 at the time, didn’t look all that old beyond the gray, and was experimenting with wearing her hair as it was. After that, she began dyeing her hair again, and did for well over a decade after.

I am definitely not the first person to make the joke about the wait for the second part of Lindsay Ellis's Game of Thrones postmortem being a reference to how long it takes GRRM to write the books, but I sure am thinking it as I uncharacteristically venture into the hell that is Twitter on a regular basis just to check if there are any more teasers like this:

My coworkers are younger than me and have swimming pools. They offered to let me come over to swim but I asked how their parents would feel about a 25 year old hanging with a 16 yr old or a 19 yr old and they just said to pretend to be 17, because, and I quote, "no one believes you're 25 when you say you are" -_-

So I went to Leeds Pride today! It was... okay. I wish I had a phone with Google because I got lost repeatedly. Both the two cops I asked for directions and both the two women at the Unitarian church's craft-making room where I hung out for a while shared my first name, which was mildly disturbing. Got some ace and NB flag face-paint brush thingies, brought home my repeatedly failed attempt at making a friendship bracelet to retry later. I'm glad I went, though I think the crowds of strangers are probably not really my scene.

The name thing feels like some kind of sign, but to do what? To officially change my name? To come out or to stay in? Life is weird.

holy crap. this gave me shivers and brought tears to my eyes at the same time. an artist took real images from the rosetta spacecraft, that orbited the comet 67p a couple years ago, and cut them together into a video of basically what the orbiter (and lander!!) saw. this is the most sci-fi thing i've ever seen, this close-up view of a twisted and strange alien world... and it's real.

My friend has a theory that things like her xbox that will respond to me but not her for no apparent reason is the natural result of our parents’ desire to live in a Star Trek future. I think our parents could never have anticipated that we would use all this power to play Despacito.

could someone explain to me why twitter accounts are suddenly blowing up with tweets about feral hogs, I'm too twitter illiterate to understand this

  20. Everett

Everett local rats so small, so tiny

From what i gather its because one person asked a question about how to shoot a whole bunch of feral hogs who, i guess, are like gonna attack his kids or something

Why he asked that i dont know
