an important survey: when you see or hear the word "beam" as it pertains to smiling, do you picture a smile with or without teeth showing?

Teeth showing by default. It's hard for a closed-lips smile to have the same wide brightness.

that is so strange to me!!! to me "beaming" has always conjured this sort of image:
maybe it is because i can't separate the shape the word has in my brain from the actual meaning of the word. "beam" just sort of feels like the mouth should be closed, literally just because of the letters and ..... shape of it. like the way you say it out loud!! like "hiss" or "wince", it has always felt like one of those words that sounds like what it is. (not like an onomatopoeia, obv)

(i know that my interpretation is Incorrect but i Cannot interpret it any other way)

Oh, that's a beaming type of smile too! I think it's because I have a small mouth. If I smile that widely, my lips will probably part. It takes a little conscious effort to keep them closed.

i interpret "beam" as with teeth 'cause "beam" conveys a sense of light reflecting off something, of bright light, and it would reflect off teeth more than off lips

yes, that makes more sense logically!! but the shape of it is embedded deep in my lizard brain
