I don't actually use Spotify, but maybe I should. Would you recommend, or shall I stick with my MP3 player's card?

I say it's good to have both at your disposal!! I enjoy mp3 players for their simplicity and I enjoy Spotify for modern compatibility.

That's so valid. YouTube animation memes have a lot of bangers

Seconding this. Some stuff isn’t available on Spotify so I just save the MP3s, but I’ve found it very useful to have both.

And like @Deresto said, it has podcasts! It’s prolly the best podcast app I’ve used, actually.

I'm in awe of people's face recognizing powers

I'm out to eat at a place I've been to like 10 times ever, maybe? It's been at least 2 months since I was last here, and I usually sit in a booth by the windows, when I can choose. Yet the chef recognized me and said "long time no see" with a welcoming smile?

The first couple times were when they just opened, so maybe I just made a first impression, or maybe he's very good at faces. IDK

Face recognition is a nightmare for me, especially when my boss' boss keeps saying recognizing repeat customers and monthlies is a very important part of customer service.

I can't even remember someone from the day before, how do people know customers they haven't seen in months?

Vanna White is hosting Wheel of Fortune now??? I think it's just temporary, but she definitely deserves it! She's doing a great job

I hate having to come up with stuff I want for Christmas. I don't want to ask for stuff I'm not going to use, but stuff I am going to use isn't wrappable (Kindle books mostly) and it would feel weird to get only those.

in recent years i've stared asking for direct, practical stuff like cooking utensils or other stuff i genuinely need in some fashion, but not need pressing enough to be time sensitive

Have you tried asking for practical things? Christmas doesn't have to be just fun novelties, you could ask for stim things, or a new blanket, or simple clothing like soft socks or a sweater? You could also ask for gift cards, those are wrappable

i've gone to my parents like 'i want a proper heavy mortar and pestle' or 'i need a few fluffy onesies for homewear' and gotten exactly what i needed, it's an approach that's really worked for me
