Fishin' in the stream of consciousness (all-purpose, no topic chat thread)

yeah this year i asked for a new toaster oven. a couple years ago it was a mattress. nothing wrong with asking for something practical for christmas!

 

Also useful but not completely utilitarian, things like credit at a local coffee shop or hairdresser. Things which might be neglected if the budget is tight but make life a bit nicer.

 

I just ask for vast quantities of the tea I like that the local grocery store only sells in organic with the price marked up a dollar a box.

 

Kindle gift card?

 

My mom prefers experiences over things for gifts, so I tend to pair a card for the event with a small consumable. It feels far more substantial that way, even though the consumable isn't at all the highlight of the gift.

 

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I found some books which aren't on Kindle which I can ask for, plus a couple of T-shirts, and there's a fudge shop I like, so I have a decent list of things Mum can pick from now.

 

I'll recognize the faces, but no chance at remembering the names. It often takes me weeks or months to learn the names of new coworkers. I'll repeat their name over and over in my head when they introduce themselves, then the next day it's blank.

 

i bought a new graphic novel on sale. Cancer Vixen, ive read it before and it’s a great read, but the copy is so new the pages still stick together and it was on steep discount at hpb. inside of it there was a single pink tiny post-it note with

• “street rat…”

on it.

why was it in there.

how was it in there.

what’s the significance. what else was going to be on the bullet point list. why the ellipses.

so many questions.
