It's nice to be able to clean without anyone getting in my way.

Pushing through my depression funk to finish cleaning my apartment, by telling myself Betty White wouldn't want me to live like this.

Cleaning spree continues. I've completely rearranged my computer table, so now both my laptop and my desktop are on the table and I've taken my ps4 and put it away for now. I'll decide what to do about it later. Since the desktop is, well, on the desk and not on the floor anymore I was able to sweep up. Cleaned up my art table too so now I actually have a space to put a notebook and supplies down. Next thing to do will be to get a new lamp since my old one sort of broke. Can't get the damn thing to turn off anymore so I have to unplug it every time I'm done with it.

I've been cleaning too!! I got a couple mushroom growing kits for xmas and clearing space for them on my counter turned into rearranging and reorganizing all my baking stuff and a couple cabinets, plus throwing out old stuff I wasn't gonna use.

and now in a couple weeks I get some golden oyster and lions mane shrooms :D

God, sometimes living in Texas and the people around me in Texas is like guilt trip of the century for not knowing gun names and how they work and just being afraid of them in general. It's like this fucked up version of peer pressure and I know Not All Texans but the ones in my life happen to be Very Knowledgeable and it sucks

I really don't want kids, but I miss knowing any people who have babies. Babies are great when you can give them back.

Glad i'm not the only one who caught the new years cleaning bug! I just moved to a new apartment around thanksgiving so i'd been in and out of it, but noticed we've got a roach problem, so i spent friday deep cleaning the kitchen counters and appliances so i feel better about using them, and put a bunch of various baits/traps around the places they appear to be coming from.

then the last two days i've done a more slow-paced completion of organizing my new room- the necessary furniture's been trickling in ever since I moved so I only just got everything i needed to sort everyone. i now have everything organized and put away in a place that feels good and have all my fav posters on the wall!!! it's very satisfying

Nervous about getting more involved in the bsd fandom. I started a new fandom twitter and I'm hoping it goes well.

So my father was taken to the hospital when I was at work this afternoon. He had a stroke earlier this week and today a fever of 104, but was refusing to go to the hospital or even to a doctor. Not surprising since he's an anti vax conspiracy theorist. While I'm glad my Aunt and Uncle managed to get him to go to the hospital it's not for the reasons everyone thinks.

I actually feel comfortable for the first time in years. I don't have to listen to that stupid right wing shit coming out his computer speakers, I don't have to worry about every conversation derailing into conspiracy nonsense.

The apartment is quiet without him, there's no banging or cursing. It's really peaceful, and I know it won't last. I'm dreading when he gets out of the hospital. He and the rest of the family act like I'm not going to be able to survive on my own, like I didn't spend years taking care of my mother and 6 or more dogs plus 4 cats by myself. I don't need a car to survive, if I needed I could just move to a city. And I don't need them constantly calling me going "what will you do now?!"

It's annoying being treated like some kind of stupid kid because my conspiracy theorist father thinks the world is going to end and has convinced the rest of the family I can't make it on my own. I just needed to rant and get it out of my head, because my coworkers wouldn't understand anymore than my family would.

I really do want the ferret I'm picking up tomorrow but I'm getting anxious about my ability to care for him. Everything's set up, it should be fine.
