I was in a play tonight! And it went well! And I got compliments! And flowers!

And tomorrow I do it again and then twice more next week!

Not to keep litigating this, but I would also note that that time frame is even more ludicrous than it sounds, because the gestation period for an Asian elephant is 22 months. They take 10-15 years to reach maturity. There's a reason geneticists do as much of their work as possible with fruit flies and mice!

I'm love eg. Why eg so expensive Y_Y

I know so many people with illegal backyard chicken operations, now. They took the eggs away from the common man and made it a luxury, so the common man said, "fuck it, I'll make my own".

If you could eat a tide pod, would you? Is it the color, or the consistency? Maybe the satisfying pop of it?

I'd eat a tide pod for the same reason I'd eat one of those bug things in emperor's new groove. There's a satisfaction to it.

There actually used to be candy like that when I was a kid, and I'm sad they were the one novelty candy that really seems to have died out

  8. the floral/herbal gusher flavors the world didn't know it needed!

I actually have encountered floral-flavored popping boba, but only in sakura and rose, neither of which I especially like. when they start making them in jasmine and violet it'll be all over for us assholes

  10. See, I like lavender a lot but I also recognize that it is very easy to over-concentrate it to the extent that it gets gross and soapy. which is to say I'm intrigued to learn that this exists but don't particularly trust it to actually taste good

Ttrpg as a concept is just. So beautiful.

I can pretend to be the world's finest cheese maker who is secretly using their store as a front to sell pickles, but guess what! Pickles aren't even illegal in this hypothetical world! It's not even considered morally wrong to consume them! I just didn't want to share my own with anyone I don't like. It's a horrible plan but I can still do this, I can be as ridiculous as I want as long as I keep providing top notch cheese to the masses. I can literally just do that. This and more can be found scribbled out on a character sheet with a good GM leading the way!

...I kept pondering this, saw it's relationship to writing things in general, and now I want to know if the Erin Hunter author group was originally an elaborate ttrpg campaign

theambernerd dead to all sense of shame

Alas, I am a heckin nerd and I know how Warriors was made.

Warriors was a book series commissioned by the publisher and the editor and authors were hired to make a series about cats - Vicky Holmes, the original editor and story composer for the series, has even mentioned that she was more of a dog person and didn't think of cats that much before the project started. Since it's a series owned by the publishing company and all the workers for it are ghost writers it is actually one step from being a full ship of theseus now - Vicky Holmes stepped down in 2017 and one of the original authors, Kate Cary, stepped down this last year, leaving Cherith Baldry as the only public figure on the team to have been involved the whole time. Obviously who knows if some of the publishing overlords have remained consistent, but the editor team making the stories is more anonymous now so we don't know for sure who's trading hands when.

The other Erin Hunter series have always been entirely different teams - I think there was some overlap with Seekers but Survivors, Bravelands, and whatever else they have going on anymore have always had zero public-facing overlap with the Warriors team.
