Yesterday I came across this attempt at a PG ad for a very un-PG company. "General store" indeed.

 

Shouldn't that be "nani" instead of "desu"?

 

It's also an additional reference to an old 4chan meme involving another character who says 'desu' to a ridiculous extreme.

So this morning I got woken up by a call from work at 8am asking if tonight instead of being cashier I could teach a kids' intro to knitting class. Um, okay, I can do that. And then I got into a stare down with the cat before falling back asleep. Like "I know you want pets, child, but you are at the foot of the bed and I'm not sitting up. If I didn't sit up for talking to a manager, what makes you think I'll sit up for you, my precious baby?". After holding my hand out and making a few meowing sounds, she came up to get petted for a minute before going back to curl up in her spot. Then I went back to sleep too. Good morning.

 

Update: The kids' class went pretty okay. Only one kid cried! And one mom went and told my boss she really liked me and how I interacted with the kids, so I might get asked to do it again.
The kid who cried was just super frustrated by the end. I kept helping her and showing her how to do it and she'd get it for a little while and then I'm go help someone else or do my own knitting for a bit and let her try on her own and she'd end up doing something weird again. Don't worry, child, everyone has trouble when they start. If only I had the hole filled square that was my first attempt at knitting, but alas, that's at my dad's house somewhere if I still have it.

 

I made What Is This, A Scarf For Mice?? because I cast on a ton of stitches and only knit a few rows, and then i tried to make a scarf for my grandmother but didn't realize i was increasing every row until it was very clearly a trapezoid. :')

 

The first scarf I ever knit? The edges curled in so bad it looked more like a really long sock than a scarf. And I know I mentioned that to at least one of the kids in the class. And there were only 3 kids, so the others heard it too unless they were too focused.

got 20 rows or so along before i unraveled it in frustration.

 

I really need to learn knitting.

 

It's fun and I think it's pretty easy to learn! Although when I started I kept doubling my stitch count every row because I thought it was essential to keep both the new and old stitches on the needles.

Curling stockinette stitch is the woooooorst.

 

I need to learn crotchet since all the cute stuffed animal patterns are crotchet...
