i 'unno, it seems weird for them to be updating it in stages and take away some of the more iconic pearlcatcher traits (horn, whiskers)--why take those away and do multiple small updates to his art instead of one big one? but we'll probably know for sure if it keeps updating tomorrow and so forth, though i feel you on points, though. >> glances at watch
Flight Rising is not run by the most efficient people, lest we forget the wolf cape nonsense, the many gene problems and the random updating of gem apparel without letting people know. The horn wasn't taken away, it was made to look even more worn down (and a lot less like the point was just lopped off), and they probably wanted a haggard look with adding a couple teeth. I can't explain the whisker thing, though.
Mirror was so badly formatted that the male's nose was hacked off and showed up in the female version in the corner. They had enough sense to correct the male art after a few days of being made fun of, but for MONTHS that floating nose was in the female's space
Ohhh, more apparel formatting shenanigans. Ebony Filigree Boots still have a random floating blob from the next image over on male Nocs :P (lovingly modelled here) Ty!
wait, where? I don't see it also i found my old DR post abt it behold: There also happens to be a dragon clipping onto the male's wing.
Conveniently still have the screencap from when I reported it in the Apparel Errors thread! ...a day short of exactly a year ago, hah. Not as dramatic as that ridiculous Mirror nose tho :P
oh! Man, that's so tiny, I was looking near the noc itself. meanwhile schnozzface over there like HEY GUYS (seriously it took them months+ to fix the female art)
the FR staff is... not the best, yeah i recently actually read through the terms of use and some of them are kind of skeevy, like it's not allowed to discuss staff decisions or banned users using the FR forums? which is kind of scary
"no discussing bans in the forums" is pretty standard from what I've seen (admittedly, pretty limited experience here tho). 1) Prevents talking behind the banned player's back, since a lot of forums are member-locked? and 2) by the time staff hits "no really, it's time for a ban" levels of problem it's usually something that should be kept between the offender, staff, and victim(s). Gimme a minute to pick through the ToS, it looked pretty standard last time I read through but that was a while ago.
brings this back Things of past: Xhaztol gets so fucking buttmad that DR exists Gaia/Bunnymod scams newbie players constantly and they believe her because she's a mod Aequorin is a piss poor admin Undel is VERY lazy in her art because she can/people eat it up anyway and it's sad.
i admittedly have very little experience with forums, i was on one forever ago in middle school but it was boring so i was only on for a couple days anything feels restrictive after kintsugi i guess eta: i heard about the riot of rot accent/skin fiasco last year though and im :/ i forgot abt FR for like a year there so i totally missed that when it happened
Spoiler: picking apart the TOS Picking out the things that seem related to what Raybot mentioned: These are pretty standard, probably just listed separately because yeah, some people will try to argue that staff aren't ""members""". Customer service is gr8 Again, standard, this can get into Legal Things-- basically, sometimes CS/Staff will have to make decisions based on data that the majority of site users do not need and should not have (back-end user-identifying stuff), and they can't come out and say why they made their decision without revealing that info. Better to just have a blanket ban "no really, we can't talk about this stuff, if you're curious go ask the other person involved since we'd need their permission anyway". This is specified to mean "do not discuss on the forums, please use the Contact Us button". Which, again, can tie back to info that they're not allowed to give out to the userbase, and have neither time nor spoons to explain to each and every complaint thread. Aaaand say it again with me: standard. Circumventing a ban's a dick move, especially with staff that don't tend to be too ban-happy in the first place. ...Which is not to say the staff have not made questionable decisions about where the lines are drawn on certain "at moderator's discretion" rules. Like the RoR skins last year.
The most recent one I'd assume. "No obvious blood on the Plague festival but if it's green it's okay because it's ~*~*more obviously unreal*~*~"
last year's "it's too red" i read through one of the longer threads about the issue which i saw recently in the acent/skin problems thread so it's still an issue. someone's ember/flame skin was rejected because it was "too red" and made the dragon look like it was "suffering" im.............. and @Loq yeah i think im just way under-experienced when it comes to forums, whoops
also how this actively contradicted the lore, plaugemom doesn't like zombies because they didn't survive
