Both the parents are selected for pretty children as well as matching the characters! Which was harder than I thought it would be at first, but worked well. Megatron is antique/antique/maroon and Optimus is phthalho/phthalo/red, so they've got a decently large but identical range for primary/secondary (mostly greys, purples, and blues), so only one third of the range is totally outside megatron and/or optimus-esque colors. And they're really tightly constrained for the tert (3 colors total :p) The only spot where I'm not sure how well the children will fare is if they have bright purple coloring with the red tertiary, but the kid who came out partly purple here is still doing well for herself XD
