  1. I refuse to eat tomatoes on my burger because tomatoes suck.

there is something intensely satisfying about growing tomatoes but I cannot stand anything about the sensory experience of eating them

The one thing I know about Five Guys is that they became a meme on French Twitter for a few days when they opened one in Paris, precisely because their food sucked and would have been overpriced even if it didn't.

I remember when White Castle opened up down here years ago and everyone lost their fucking minds trying to eat there. There was like hour long lines and it was waaay overpriced for basically very little food. Plus it was nasty as hell, and lukewarm

I have basically no chain burger allegiance, but I will eat anything and everything on my burger. Favorite topping combo: fried egg, mayo, bacon, sharp cheddar, breakfast style mushrooms. If I have the choice of getting fried egg on my burger, I will opt for it at all times.

On a related note what's the one common condiment you hate the most? Mine is hands down ketchup, mostly because I actually like it in reasonable amounts but everyone feels the need to put it in excessive quantities on everything that comes with ketchup and then my mouth hurts and it's Too Sweet.

SECONDING RANCH. Mayo, in the right places, works. Ranch, even in the right places, could be better served by pretty much anything.

I honestly can't think of a burger topping I hate. I've even found ways for me to like relish (usually when mixed into some other sauce). And I've had a weird assortment and array of veggies on them that I've liked. Really, if I hate toppings it's more exclusive to like this one particular experience. Like I don't like lots of relish and relish that isn't mixed into like a mayo and ketchup based sauce or how there've been tomatoes I've hated on burgers because the tomatoes weren't good ones. But I don't exclusively hate those things in all cases.

I really don't get why people like burgers so much. Like, I'll eat them, but I don't really love them you know.
Same with steak tbh. Although I will order a burger in a restaurant, and won't order a steak unless the rest of the options on the menu are some kind of seafood.

No need for forks, spoons, knives, or even proper plates if you're making them at home. The perfect food for quick and easy cleanup. Also it's pretty versatile. I like most cooked sandwiches anyhow, but burgers in specialty joints tend to get more exciting with their prep than they are at Regular Joe All Around Restaurant.

(Personally I also tend to prefer seafood, unless the prep is just "we did a lemon and seared it ur welcome", at which point I look for steak on the menu instead. Lemon and fish might go fantastic together, but I hate it, and I'll take the hefty taste of medium-rare steak instead. I don't spring for burgers on the menu if it's not a Burger Joint though, because 10:1 I'll be disappointed.)
