it's an appetizer er. good question... I like both, but am more likely to eat or have access to rolls. sometimes I get a package of scones if they're cheese or fruit flavored. but in my daily life I use either sliced bread or flatbread for most of my needs - rolls are for Fancy Meals and biscuits are a homemade treat. see now I'm wondering how I can get more biscuits/scones/rolls into my daily life. #thanks seebs
Biscuits for mealfilling, rolls for those times when ya just Gotta Chew and gum feels Wrong. Spoiler: reference images biscuit: Fist-sized, roundish, dense, buttery and salty. Best served with savory food, like a nice gravy and meat. Roll: Oblong, crackly tough crust around lighter bread, just kind of... bread-flavored and inoffensive. Supposed to be used for meatball sammiches and the like, but also good for "nothing is food/I'm not really hungry but still Must Chew On Something."
I bet I could sub bacon and get away with it p: I'M DOING THIS the next time I have free time at breakfast
biscuits all the way, rolls are for when you dont have biscuits and have to make due. im assuming you mean dinner rolls in specific?
Yeah, I was kinda thinking "holiday dinner carbohydrate side" when I made the post, but I am willing to accomodate many definitions!
The texture is actually pretty different, I got rolled fondant and it's like play dough except it tastes really sweet, it's a really nice texture.
Every time I'm at a store selling fondant I have to convince myself that no, I do not need to buy and eat this 5lb block of sugar. Glad to know it's not just me.
