Yeah, that's true. And I would say 'tweak that and have him as Peggy in act one and Philip in act two' but even Philip is... aw sweetie. Steven is sir not appearing in this musical.
BUT IM TORN BECAUSE SHE WOULD BE SUCH A HILARIOUS HAMILTON THO PERIDOT: Lazuli, you're a better lawyer than me. LAPIS: Okay.
Also idk, Connie's desire to be part of the Gems' story (and her emphasis on stories in general and their power) feels very Eliza-ish.
ROSE QUARTZ: (extending a hand) Mr. Jefferson, welcome home- PERIDOT: (leaping in front of her to steal the handshake) MR JEFFERSON ALEXANDER HAMILTON
You're absolutely right, she has a lot of that in her too, I just... can't make her sing 'That Would be Enough' in my head no matter what. I might have overdone her character in my head based on how fierce shieldmaiden she's been acting in recent episodes but it just doesn't sit with me...
PERIDOT: My father wasn't around-- LAPIS: My father wasn't around-- BOTH: I swear that I'll be around for you PERIDOT: I'll do whatever it takes-- LAPIS: I'll make a million mistakes-- BOTH: I'll make this world safe and sound for you. ;u; (No clue what to replace 'father' with or how to handle all the themes of fatherhood anyway if the real parents are George Washington and ???? but HA HA GEMS AM I RIGHT)
-whispers- with amethyst playing maria reynolds in the second half because we can screw around with who is double cast as who i mean
sorry to go off topic but- i just discovered that 10 duel commandments is apparently really helpful for "just do the hard thing already". you see, there was a spider, and i am arachnophobic, but i had to get the spider, and that song has been stuck in my head most of the evening so "summon all the courage you require" popped into my head, and then the "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9" played and i just went for it at the end of the count. :D
Have y'all heard the song Lin did with Jennifer Lopez? It's goddamn euphoric and really, really powerful and all the profits from the song are being donated to a queer Latinx charity. Here's a really adorable preview video.
http://roachpatrol.tumblr.com/post/148718263205/afriendandboy-afriendandboy-make-america AARON BURR, looking tired: make america again. just make it again. let’s start over completely. we had a good run but it’s time to hit the reset button and try again HAMILTON, considering: some thoughts for america 2.0-- LAFAYETTE, interrupting: national anthem is gasolina GEORGE WASHINGTON, off: no founding fathers whatsoever but maybe we give dwayne the rock johnson a mountain statue or two JOHN LAURENS: let’s do way, way less genocide this time. im thinking definitely like 0% of the genocide from the last time, that seems good HERCULES MULLIGAN, unexpectedly: maybe more holidays about dogs
Hey, would anyone like to tell me why I spent my evening re-watching the bootleg, because I'm covered in snotty tears now and too bereft to finish dinner? By the way, does anyone have any clips of the new Chicago cast acting/singing? My guess is a pretty tight grip has been kept on them, but I'm really curious about a lot of the new actors and how they sound/act in their roles. I found a clip of Javier Munoz on Say No To This, which is awesome, but I would really love to hear/see more, especially of the new actors :3
Idk if this is the right place to ask about this, but a few threads on fine imported drama have had people who hate Hamilton because it's apparently the worst thing ever. I know theres nuance, but do you guys have thoughts/know posts deconstructing the backlash?
i think some of the stuff is valid critique, but i dont think it makes it The Worst Ever. the show isn't perfect.
